Wow you should make a mod out of these soundtracks for the steam version of FF8. I'd definitely BUY it. I've been replaying ff8 to celebrate the 20 year anniversary. I have a soundtrack overhaul installed, an improvement from the original tracks but they are more orchestral, they are great but i think your tracks sound superior. This is very well done. I am going to throw a tiny nitpick your way. There is a short period between 0:38 and 0:57 where the song seems to... forget (?) half of its melody. This is my only quarrel with this piece, and even then it's a very minor one. Everything else is close to perfect in how it mirrors, rebuilds and elevates the original. Also, that thing you did with the Overture near the end was amazing.

For the most part this has the same drive and impact as the original. The only exception is at 0:56, I was waiting for the (I think?) synth flutes (or whatever they are) and they did not make an appearance. When it comes to keeping the motivation of the song, they do the heavy work at that part, so without it the song has too much of a break in my opinion. But very good job!
