Here's my theory as to the actual plot of this game and the sequel: All of the kidnapped kids obviously have parents, who are no doubt heartbroken about their children going missing. Eventually, Meen was discovered by the US government as the culprit, but Meen refused to release the children until all of the world's educational institutes, government literacy programs, and anything educational. And if the governments try to sic their militaries on him, he'll use his magic to launch every nuclear weapon in the world at population centers and government targets. The player character volunteers to rescue the kids as part of UN coalition, and he/she is assisted by Gnorris, who is a government contact. After the events of Chill Manor, both Meen and Chill teleport into the middle of the UN Security Council, either by accident, in haste to escape "Agent Egghead" (another UN volunteer who sought to stop Chill from creating a world where the Axis won World War II), or incompetence, and they find themselves surrounded by armed soldiers and shot to death. So, really, this isn't an educational adventure. It's a simulation of a daring UN operation to bring a pair of terrorists to justice. Oh, and the player doesn't absolutely have to fix the grammar erros to free the kids. This whole time, all they had to do was kick in the door, which, due to the incompetence of the gnomes, were poorly engineered. He/she is just a huge Grammar Nazi with OCD.

Yeah, I remember the instruction manual says your health bar is how tired your character is, and when it runs out, you fall asleep and get taken back to your cell. And the projectiles that the enemies shoot at you are sleep spells. Doesn't explain why other enemies are swinging clubs and scythes and swords, though.

Let me get this straight. Your main playable character is either the boy or the girl who get sucked in through the portal-book at the beginning of the game. (Don't ask about the hair color change) Once your in the labyrinth, a gnome named Gnorris takes pity on you and instead of imprisoning you, he sends you out on a mission to save the other children in the labyrinth. If I am correct, please comment and say so.

Awesome game. It's basically Wolf3D with a simple inventory system, a better melee attack and having somewhat simplified combat for kids who might not have perfect reaction time or get surprised easily. The educational puzzles also are unique in that they, in addition to grammar being a uncommon subject in edutainment games, but the puzzles also offer hints, secrets, world building and character development, and are actually fun to read. It's like if you took audio logs from modern games and made them into puzzles, and you can't skip or zone out when you read them, since you have to find the errors. The villian is dastardly and entertaining. He does not patronize you. The enemies vary through the zones and get progressively harder. You want to beat the motherfucker who kidnapped you and a bunch of other kids . This game WILL NOT bore kids. Legit 10/10 for an edutainment game.

Pretty much. Gnorris works for Meen, but he doesn't like what he's doing and secretly works against hm. I don't know why it takes so long for Meen to notice Gnorris betrayed him, though.

Meen most likely knew that Gnorris was betraying him and decided to play along to keep things interesting (During his encounters, he seems joyful seeing a pair of kids outside their cell, rather than upset). Only near the end of the game when he knew he's in trouble, Meen points out the betrayal to let out his frustration.
