I'm going to be 100% honest with y'all and I don't care about people butthurt about the ending. This game has exceeded every expectation I had for it. I felt although it was stuffed with filler content, each small moment they added be it meaningless side quest added something more to the experience. I found my self story hunting, much like I did when I played the original game. searching every corner for a hidden piece of the story. Most side quests held an Easter egg to a moment from the original game. The cutscenes felt like rewards like how games used to be. I dunno maybe that is just the 10 year old in me playing this fantastic game.

People that were up in arms about the ending just didn't understand what was happening. Everything about the whispers, up to that point, were pushing the narrative in the way that it was supposed to go. If they paid attention they would have noticed. Aerith was about to leave before even pumping into Cloud, so the whispers took action forcing her over to him. Again, when Cloud turned down the second job we weren't going. Like at all. The whispers took action once again and forced Jessie to hurt her ankle, forcing us to take her place. Then at the graveyard, we got there too early so they stopped us once again, making us fight them until the time was right to let us through. Another thing about the ending that I dont see get talked about enough is that Sephroith absorbs the whispers and then USES them against us!

When I experienced this in 97 in the original I thought to myself wow there is nothing better than this, this game is more than just beating a level and getting the high score this game is real. I'm so happy that I could experience this moment again and somehow still feel the same way I did back then. It to me though appears visually better and actually has voice acting is the exact same experience down to Uematsu's music cue and direction. For us back then the music made up the difference that this generation uses facial expressions and voice acting for, to have both flawless music and perfect acting and cinematography OMG what a time to be alive...

The sad this is that while Jessie MIGHT be alive if the rumors are true, her parents are most likely dead. Remember that it's the Sector 7 that fell and Sector 7 Topside is where her house is. I grew pretty attached to Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge early in the game. I played the original game, so I knew this scene was coming. Just before this scene played out, I thought to myself "oh boy, this is going to hurt." Yeah, it hurt a lot more than I thought it would...... Knowing Jessie's death was coming did not make things any easier. If anything, the dread leading up to this scene made it hurt that much more.

My theory is that its not the plot ghosts since they're trying to keep the OG story where the trio (Biggs, Jessie and Wedge) dies in that plate fall, with the small cutscene of Cait in the tower, I think he couldn't prevent the separation but managed to save Biggs, or Both (Biggs and Jessie) from the collapse. There's a part of me that thinks Jessie when rescued is dead-dead, but Biggs was still unconscious. Then theres the other where both of them survive, but looking at how Jessie was burried in the rubble, she might live but have a broken spine or something (I dunno what the actual term or part is, don't kill me pls) that renders her lower body disabled

I think that what gets me the most is that I knew Jessie since the OG so, when I started to play the remake, that counted. It is not this new character that dies in the game. Its Jessie from the OG - we just understand it better now (since we're older) and it's way more realistic when they scene it. Master scene.

With Biggs having survived, and Wedge possibly - we don't know what happened to him after the ghosts denied him the escape - having survived, I really, REALLY hope that Jessie also survives. The motivation to save the planet remains just as steadily strong and I do not feel like anything is taken away from the entire event even if all three survive. Shinra's president is dead and the fight with Shinra becomes more or less secondary in the story because of Sephiroth. So yeah.. I think she should be given more screen time.

Catonzo She will. I feel bittersweet about it. Part of me is angry that ff7 lost the balls to kill off characters for good. And the part of me that loved Jessie more than any other character in FF7 remake is excited to see her again. She will be an actress, you will see her performing at the Gold Saucer in the next game. When they killed the harbingers of fate the re-wrote all avalanche’s deaths. But Jessie is one too many love interests for Cloud in the long run. So when you see her, it will just be a brief cameo, maybe a date with Cloud, but that will be all. She will stay behind at the Gold Saucer to pursue her life as an actress. Calling it now. I still think it is a very bad idea to being chars back from the dead. If lessens the emotional impact of all future deaths, because people will in the back of their mind wonder if the char will be brought back like the others were. A very dangerous practice to get into

Catonzo alternatively, she may be an actress at the Gold Saucer who you see in a play. Afterwards Cloud approaches her, and realizes she has no memory of her life with avalanche. This would be because her entire past was re-written when they changed fate. Her dad never had an accident at work, and ended up coming out to see her in that play. It was his accident that caused her to seek out avalanche, so because he never had it, she never did. She will have a new life as a successful actress. That would be another way for the story to avoid bringing her along and further complicating things as another love interest

plops993 well the game says Jessie is dead. Wedge we don’t know but he had the same last words as he did in the OG when he gets pushed out the window by the ghosts. Biggs is alive. Read the chapter selection in game “Jessie passes” “Biggs is wounded”. I honestly had zero emotional impact for these characters in the original. They had basically 3 lines each. You can “miss” Biggs and Jessie’s deaths. What got me emotional in the original was all of sector 7 died. No evacuation. Shows how much they put into strengthening the characters in this remake that people actually care if they are dead or alive.

After playing the OG FF7 back in 97, I'm glad they gave more story and plot to Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge. Not much to them in the original. But I'm just going to throw this out there, with what they did for those three in the remake. I can't imagine what they will do for the death of all deaths in this game, with how they played those three out. If you played the OG FF7, you probably know what scene I'm talking about. I don't think people are ready for that scene, bc the original scene broke me, so I can't imagine how they will play that out, especially with Zach still being alive. Rebirth comes out Feb 2024, and I can't wait

It was the whispers that killed her not the blast. They had to keep the timeline intact for destiny (original FF7 story). In the end, they killed destiny anyway so the ff7 timeline has been altered.

@@AVA211289 Thank you, it's simply the truth. I only knew a bare minimum about Final Fantasy 7 before this game. I was familiar with a few major characters due to their appearance in other games and a few points about the plot, but nothing else. So seeing the members of Avalanche die was a real blow to me especially since earlier chapters established their characters and made me attached to them. At this point I was determined to make Shinra pay and to stop them from collapsing the pillar (which sadly do to several factors we cannot stop). Hopefully in the next game. I got the impression that at this point for Cloud he was no longer caring about the paycheck, he was determined to stop Shinra and to make sure that those who died didn't do so in vain.

@9:10 the streamer talks about that in the original it didn't come across as Jessie was dead. I mean... Come on! She even says in the original that those are her final words! And she gets a freckin' METAL PIZZA SLICE dropped on her. Ofc she's dead.

I have played the original and I was aware of their deaths that I did not cry for its remake. However the remake they made it more emotional here. I think once Aeirith's death comes about I will see if I cry.. if Aerith dies
