If there was any indication that the producers of the remake didn't "get" FFVII, it was their rendition of this song. It totally missed the oppressive, persistent, industrial feel; not to mention the solemnity of entire scene In the first Act and the otherworldliness that was Mako. But you captured it. Good job!

Fucking thank you. The remake lost something in its new arrangements. Very little was memorable. Not everything needs to be orchestrated.

This is the haunt that the ff7 remake version was missing, the feeling that you've just got into the deep end and there's only one way out.

Honestly, if a producer ever took this one and mixed it together with the slower tempo and thundering low end of the Remake version, I would faint from joy

Out of ALL the FF7 soundtrack "remakes" out there in KZbin land I think YOU have captured the real spirit of FF7, it really does the original tracks justice. Have you thought about remaking the whole soundtrack? Great work man!

This one beats all Mako Reactor Remastered or Remakes, There is a feeling of urgency for once... It is almost an indescribable feeling. Its as if you are there observing the chaos they bring with sucking the Planet's life away, then you realize, there must be something you can do to stop it, but you must hurry, or your very home will be a wasteland. You did an Excellent Job on this beautiful Masterpiece. You brought the feeling of something new.

What a perfect remake! Everything just sounds right and matches the feeling of the original, but with a much richer, fuller sound. The choir samples could be a little better, but it's not bad especially considering it was made in 2012. I actually prefer straight remakes like these to the more interpretive and experimental genre-changing remixes that are out there. Anyway, great job!

Agreed! Love your stuff, especially the Chrono Trigger album. I think the quiet, almost muffled choir samples make for an isolated or claustrophobic feel which I think fits for the mako reactor

OK i just wrote on anothe rtrack that the orchestrated thing did nothig for me. Well n this case it blows my mind. I guess in some songs it's more appropriate than others. Some of them sounded just fine the way they were. This is Incredible. Unbelievable. Incredibelievable. I put the sound up and my relatively good speaker went screaming. The echo is perfect and the drumms / Bass is huge, the voices are deep and omg i need to stop.

It's really cool, but one thing that people seem to always get wrong with the FFVII remakes or any final fantasy remakes is the synths, the original synth has a much less rounded sound and has a slight mix of rough strings to it, really gives it that edge, I think that kind of thing really puts me off when it comes to remakes.

They aren't. They can't. And they won't. SE will not deliver what the fans want, and it will be watered down to pander to non-experienced players. If the people want a new FF7 game, then it's up to the people to make that game.
@RatedRY
@RatedRY 9 жыл бұрын
Zack Ableton You should wait until you've played & completed XV... with how much effort square's putting behind that game, through their own efforts in development, nearing 10 years trying to perfect everything & interacting with the fans taking their input into consideration I think we really have a winner here. Imagine ff7 with the graphics of XV? Shouldn't be that hard to do, considering XV is a fantasy based on reality like 7. As for the battle system... that's a tough 1, as much as I love the original if it had a battle system like XV I wouldn't be averse to it. I personally think that, technical limitations aside something like out of XV is what they would've originally wanted in VII. Hmm... I don't know man, but regardless of if it were an action rpg or turn based I would still love it.

unoder So far XV is impressive. However I remain skeptical not because of what SE has currently done, but because of what SE has become. And it worries me. Companies like From Software don't pander to public opinion and focus only on making the best games they know how. This has never changed about them. SE, on the other hand, has been exposed to the void, tainted by something unspeakable that can only be invalidated through hard trial and the test of time. The face that created FF7 is not the same one that is creating XV.

They should have used this version in the demo. The purely orchestral dynamic theme they use in the game is too weak compared to the original and this version. The ominous electric synth gives a sense of heavy machinery being present, in a heavy, omnipresent and unforgiving tone, especially with the church bells that gives a hinting sensation of, say, funerals. As if this huge machinery called the Mako Reactor is killing everyone and everything with it's mere humongous and tumorous presence on the planet. It's just there, doing it's thing, like a huge cancer it keeps producing without care for anything, it just is, and it's horrible because we know what its presence means. In the demo the church bells are replaced with smooth piano sounds, which is more relieving than unnerving, and that, from a musical perspective with respect to the message of the story, completely misses the point.

@dellefranz
@dellefranz 4 жыл бұрын
@@Bubbadroid6502 hmm maybe. It could be a nice feature at least. I have gotten the original Soundtrack for RE2 because it actually does add a whole lot to the experience. Sure without it, the game feels very much like a modern horror game, which is awesome and I can totally appreciate the game for what it is on it's own merits. The game is really really good. But the original soundtrack just makes it hit home and acknowledge itself as a proper remake with love and care put into it and similarly love and care for the fans. And it was just a simple touch.

@@GamingAnomaly now i can explain much better why i love the original, the atmospherical feeling here is tondown, and you dont feel that creepy vibe in this remix. the FF7 mako reactor have much more stronger feeling to it, though this remix is way better than FF7 remake of mako reactor ost on the PS4. basically this remix is tondown version of the atmospherical feeling to it, and it didnt make like you have to be careful of your surrounding.
