Spoiler - remake is a paradox of 7. The whispers are trying to fix timelines when things start differing. Three of the ghosts at the end are cloud tifa beret from other paradox.

Feels like I'm in the minority sometimes of loving FF7 so much for so long that they could literally do anything with the Remake trilogy and I'd be down. So many people want a 1:1 recreation and I'm like nah, I've played the original story a million times, go absolutely insane with this for all I care and I'll eat it up.

Agreed completely, they've been totally fine & 100% what the devs described before releasing them (larger, different/extra elements, mostly adhering to the bones of the original but not exactly.) People have this idea of what they wanted; what these games were never supposed to be. The 1st wasn't perfect but offered great content (IMO) for new & old fans, the VA was leaps above older Square Enix games (many complain about 'anime grunts' as if it's a totally easy & new thing to have challenges dubbing English to Japanese-length dialogue, & wasn't 100% worse in older SE titles), & the characterizations are way beyond what they were. Those denying this have VERY strong, preconceived, rose-tinted notions of what they think these characters are, but actually aren't. In terms of gameplay, it struck a great balance between turn-based and real-time IMO. Unfortunately I think we are absolutely the minority (in the US at least); everywhere I look on the internet I see people complaining about these. Probably selling better/going-over better in other markets. People also generally have a violent recoil to change in the west.

@@cherrybloodflavor It just felt like another modern Squenix game to me. Felt like they destroyed the personality of all the characters and turned them in to typical anime archetypes. They turned the gameplay into 3rd person action, yet somehow made it less engaging than turned based. Made the games bigger than the original but it all just felt like unnecessary bloat. I've probably got more to say but that's all I got off the top of my mind.

wait do people like the remake??? everyone i've talked too thought it sucked. me included, though most of my reasons are the AWFUL new art style. zero attempt to make it a cohesive universe. you have cloud and others wearing the original ff7 outfits with middle-aged blacksmithed metal plates, next to the shinra guards who have like, F-22 raptor panels strapped to them with more panel lines than a real grade gunpla kit. and even that totally clashes with the low level SOLDIER guys who wear leather now and have plastic clasps and stuff... also theres just real world stuff everywhere??? like the AMAZING little shinra helicopters from the original game, with the piping and mako generators on the side are gone, and replaced with........ literally just a modern day japanese navy seahawk helicopter (based on the american blackhawk) and its in the same world with like, real life modern day cars... like the LTI Fx4 by austin motors, the CLASSIC iconic black-topped taxi cab of london. is just........... everywhere?? in the game? and its probably a store-bought asset too, because it has 2 licence plates on the back, the licence plate itself, and the "cab-number" plate too. which the artist forgot to remove for some reason... also its right-hand drive and all the other cars are left........................ the original game had totally unique designs.. like one of the main cars you see, the one in the opening CGI cutscene that passes infront of areith, is a steam-driven single cylinder tri-wheel with a manual pump for water injection on the back. its a little design that you rarely see, but they put so much thought into it............. all gone. just... normal regular real life vehicles now... they don't care about the art so why does anyone
