Hello Narp, just wanted to say thanks for the detailed guide it was very helpful where others were not so much. I would like to add to this for me going into the config IN GAME and setting your aspect ratio to your monitor will help. i think default mine was 4:3 and it was killing my frames until i changed it. might not be the same for everyone but it helped me when i tried everything else. great guide man i will def be coming to your channel for anything like this lol

This video helped me finally get my laptop GPU to run this game properly. The other guides out there skip steps and just assume everything is working. Double checking is huge. Laptop isn't using like 50% cpu anymore to run everything. Gpu running like 30-40% steady. Thanks

If you are looking for a guide to get DGVooDoo running like a dream, this is the one. The instructions are super clear, and it was a very easy setup, and made a world of difference in game. Thought for sure I screwed something up because I could never get this to work when I played on wings. This seems to have worked for me immediately first try. Using ASUS TUF laptop, with gtx 1650, before I had to use /fps 2 ALL the time to keep my frames smooth and would still have fps drops. Thanks for being YOU! GOATED.

yeeah this is definitely helpful!!! I was already getting a pretty decent framerate from just /fps, but i followed this guide anyway because i've seen Narpts gameplay and wondered why it was SO SMOOTH AND DETAILED compared to mine, and now I know why! Definitely a solid guide even if you feel like you dont need it, improvements in things like detail from distance, not something you think about that really improve QOL for the game.

Bear in mind that the client you use can also give you different performance. Ashita4 has given me nothing but issues, but windower and ashita3 in the same areas give me 60+ FPS. Also note that some addons cause FPS drops (e.g, timers or recast) Example difference: Ashita4 - Windurst Auction House, full shadows, 35-45 FPS. Ashita3 - Windurst Auction House, full shadows, 60+ FPS.

this was tremendously helpful!! i didnt do any of the d3d stuff, and horizonxi wont allow me to run administrator on it for some reason *shrug*. doing everything else though, i now have 57 solid fps in lower jeuno standing next to the AH. thanks so much! hopefully my days of slow motion parties are behind me!

This fixed everything for me. On Eden I never dropped below 57 even in Dynamis and here I could barely maintain 40 running through town or Zitah. Thanks so much.

Watermark worked, Nvidia over worked, FPS still trash. Changing the Vram from 4096 -> 256 fixed it for me. For reference im using a RTX 2080 super. Thanks for the video! Super helpful.

Welp, I went through this step by step and now the game doesn't launch at all. Ashita window opens, closes and then nothing. It's completely ruined.

Currently having this problem as well. It works again if you take the D3D8 extension out of the bootloader folder but that doesn't make dgvoodoo work, just fixes the none loading part.

Having a small issue, it was fine last month but had issues with new pc so had pc rebuilt and now getting this issue, when I move the camera around left and right while standing still the image on buildings and people gets distorted during movement, it use to be so clear and on motion not its almost tearing effect. I have a 144hz monitor, not sure if its my gpu or what, but i had exact same set up before and never had this issue until entire pc got rebuilt. . .

weird question... but... i want the water mark... when i have it checked, i don't see the water mark on the ashita client.... when trying to look this up... everyone and their mother is crying and complaining about removing it.... impossible to find "how to see water mark".... reason being... I don't think ashita is picking up the dgvoodoo... i've followed all steps, followed every guide i could come across, i've dotted all "i"'s and crossed all "t"'s. even being a year old, hopefully you still reply to comments

My performance Overlay still shows CPU utilization around 50% is this normal I thought Dgvoodoo changed where the game pulls resources from. Anyone else have this issue?

This depends entirely on your CPU. I still get 10-15% utilization but I also have 16 cores 8+8 if you have a quad or hexacore your utilization will look more like 30-40 or 40-50.

hmm i downloaded the latest stable version of dgvoodoo from the lin k above, version 2.83.2 and followed all your setup steps, everything is enabled and set up as outlined but when i launch horizon the watermark does not appear and the nvideo performance overlay stays at NA. should i use an older version of dgvoodoo? i noticed that it sets up a folder structure from the zip file, and i dont have the same dll files in the base folder when i unzip it into my bootloader folder

Love this guide but unfortunately I can't get the game into Geforce Experience, so the performance overlay just shows N/A. It wasn't found with a scan so I added the Game folder to the scan settings but no luck still in it finding it. Was there anything needed to force Geforce Experience into handling the game?

I know in the video you said it won't populate without the game in my profile but I can't seem to add it. I've confirmed the folder location entered matches that of the boot loader file in Task Manager while the game is running but when I try to enable anything with Gefore Experience there is message that the features do not work with unsupported games.

@@Ian-lj6kq Ah you are confusing Geforce Experience with Nvidia Control panel. Try using Nvidia Control Panel and that should fix your issue Ian!

Hi, I followed the guide step by step, on two PCs, it worked on one. On the second, the Bootloader does not show up in the NVIDIA control panel. I can browse, and select it from the directory, however, when I launch the game, the profile does not load; I do not get the NVIDIA banner on the top right. Thoughts?

Sounds like the directory doesn't match the bootloader for some reason? I would verify, and then make sure its running admin. Logically though that should work.

Not sure where you can add HorizonXI to Geforce Experience. Can't see the Performance Overlay since HorizonXI is not picked up. Scanning doesn't actually find the game. What do you recommend someone do to add it?

It's not GeForce experience, you use the nvidia control panel.

@@narpt Thanks for the response. I messed around with it for a long time last night with no luck. I will mention that I am using windower, but I did set dgvoodo also with the horizon ashita launcher and it also just crashed when setting the graphics card to the GTX 1650.

Finding out that for some reason shadows are killing my FPS big time. tried your settings but with shadows on and i was getting 45-50fps in Jeunos dense areas. Turned off shadows and wham, no fps dip. I have a 3080 and it barely uses half of it and my cpu around 80% (with shadows on). Not sure if there's a way to have shadows but no FPS dips. Really hate to turn them off. If anyone has suggestions it would be appreciated. For now i'll deal with the fps dips.

No clue why I cant get this to work on my new laptop. I worked just fine on my 2018 one but on my legion pro 9i its not working. I've double checked every step and dgvoodoo water mark wont show up and the games running completely off the intergrated GPU and not my 4080 ; ;

@@narpt believe me or not. Install HorizonXI. Set your window and UI resolution to your liking. Start the game. type in /fps 1 and done. I may have some graphics settings changed for other game (Overwatch 2 and Valorant) and probably set it global. Any other than that. Nothing else.
