thank you for watching, BLM60-80 will get a rework eventually once i figure everything out for SMN series BLM60-80 has a incorrect single rotation that needs to be fixed

Fantastic guide! I just hit level 56 as BLM but I didn't feel confident, that I was doing as much damage as I could. This will help a lot. Also, what's the music used during your explanations? Thank you. I just started playing again and used to be whm lvl 65, and then switched to BLM cuz a friend who just started playing HAS TO be healer lol.. the bastard. Main problem is my blm is level 52, so you can imagine after 3 years of not playing this game, I was a bit overwhelmed lol. This is exactly what I needed to see. Worked on HUD layout for about an hour and I think I'm set up nicely now.

glad to see you enjoying the job, it is quite annoying to get used to BLM at this lv due to certain hiccups in rotation but it gets better as you progress if you have any questions join discord, it is MUCH faster and efficient than YT chat

@@Teegres definitely my favorite dps job, after trying some rogue and archer. Also leveled a marauder to 30 but gave up on that... tanking is just kinda annoying to me lol. WHM is my favorite, but my friend wants to be healer so if I gotta dps, its gotta be black mage!

You'll be in good hands if you follow these blm guides, the single target ones 60+ are a bit wrong but I corrected them in description. Look for "Updated".

Transposing into umbral-1 after trash pull or boss transition after burning MP in astral-3 is still viable so keep it on ur keybinds.

So how do you customize your HUD with all the one spells and everything gathered in the bottom right...I want to Have Thunder and F3 next to my character so I can see when it procs better (kind of like a WoW WeakAura or Tell Me when does) but all I can do is the full hot bars when all I need is a couple squares. Also do you only use Flare in AoE or ST as well???

It's better to save swiftcast for flare after F1 spam in the single target opener, then manafont and continue fire 1 into B3, dps increase. Also F3 gets faster cast speed if you're in UI 3 so there's not much of a benefit to swiftcasting it.

not really, instaflare is 260 potency and fire 1 can proc f3 so it is 180+0,4*240=276 potency on average, better save swiftcast for movement or end AF with proc->transpose->swift->b3

To do big dmg u need a MP potion for at least 800. Only really affects AoE at this lv but fair warning of wats to come as you lv up

It's designed to swap from umbral ice to astral fire, vice versa Once swapped ur toon goes back to 1 stack respected If you're subscribed I'll go over ALL of black mage in a thorough guide in a few days if still confused.

Quick question about Flare...is it mainly AoE or do you use it at the end of ST as well?

Not quite sure on ur question, but... Flare is strictly used on 3 or more targets due to potency. If it's 2 or less just focus F1 spam》F3 Procs for main MP burn/DPS.

BLM focuses on either pure Spell Speed for faster/weaker yet consistent damage or pure CRIT for standard build. Do understand, it is not optimal to mix the two when looking for gear stats and/or materia. The good thing is that none of this really matters as you lv up, do mind it once you reach max iLV/ start working on end-game.

I'm not getting why blizzard starts off the rotation? I think it was like this in the lower level vid too and it's not clicking for me :/

Main reason is because Blizzard III gives you Umbral Ice level 3 which halves the cast time of your fire spells and regens mana allowing you to: -apply Thunder III if you didn't save up a proc while your mana regens -cast Fire III twice as fast to switch to Umbral Fire level 3 buff for damage if swiftcast was on cooldown -regenerate your mana while you do the two things above if it's empty and you are doing your rotation

It allows you to go into astral fire 3 without wasting 2000 mp since fire 3 is free to cast in umbral ice

Never, ever cancel a cast. Not even for the proc. Just use the proc after u finish the current cast.

It's like .2 seconds lost to that cast that has a 40% chance of causing a wasted proc. I don't like those odds, I think the DPS gain of doing the fire 3 now is worth it.
