I mean it worked out well I think. Hauketa is a name that sounds very japanese which doesn't fit well with the setting of the Black Shroud. ofc thats just my opinion lol

Definitely pure opinion. Hauketa sounds nothing like Japanese to me (I speak Japanese). I do prefer Haukke either way.

tbf haukke manor sounds more fitting in the setting of the story than haukketa which sounds eastern. It works better for me. ;)

as someone who doesnt speak a lick of japanese i dont understand the big deal with calling it haukke

There isn't any big deal because "Hauketa" is just a name and doesn't have any literal meaning to translate. It's like calling something in English "Rickashaw Manor" and the Japanese translation forgetting a part of ithe name and instead calls it "Rickash Manor." It's a curious change, but nothing game or lore breaking which is why the staff more than likely never decided to bother Yoshi-P about it and just left it as "Haukke Manor" which -- oddly enough sounds more gothic and fitting than "Hauketa Manor"

as far as I can remember (and its been quite a long time since arr) I don't think anyone actually says Haukke via VA at any point, but very few people seem to pronounce it with that very Japanese sounding hau-ke, syllable break it almost always gets called "hawk" or "houwk" which does sound a little more foreboding.
