Solution 9 is definitely present on the map. My first guess was a civilization that found their ninth (and final) solution to survive the 2nd calamity by harnessing the lightning to power their civilization (this is unlikely) or this is a civilization from another shard. The intact worlds have been uninterrupted for millennia while the source has had to culturally and technologically reset every 1500 years or so and the only cultures that acquire technology get it from the Ascians when they want to elevate them to power (Mhach, Allag, Garlemald, etc.). An untouched shard would have had 12,000 years to develop advanced technology. I think Solution 9 is an entire city teleported from another shard to the source. An advanced people discovered and understood the relationship between the source and shards so they transported to the source and as it is the "source" the place where they encountered sentient people was named "Heritage Found" which is the location we see with a mix of technology and mud brick. There is no way this was created by the loporrits. The advertisements showing Miqo'to and hyur indicates the same races as the rest of the world which would be the case on another shard, similar to the first. The written language being similar to Eorzean and Vrandtic would make sense because they all came from the same place. I think the Tron comparison is possibly accurate. They could have found a way to digitize themselves for the trip and have fashioned a virtual world to live in. Though this isn't likely the case for the majority as digital people don't need chairs, park benches, trash cans, aetherites, and advertising. As far as G'Raha being so overly cautious with wanting to make sure that we should be going to another place and getting involved with a people we don't know. His hypocrisy was staggering. It wasn't that long ago that I was actively fighting in a war that we were very much involved in when my friends and myself were kidnapped against our will and sent to a place we knew nothing about with its own politics, troubles, and issues and then sent out to reshape this world's future at the behest of our kidnapper (who lied to us to get us to do it. He even told Emet Selch "I'm not in the habit of pointing him at my foes like a weapon while watching me go out to kill another light warden at his direction, essentially doing the very definition of pointing me like a weapon). At least Wuk Lamat had the common courtesy to ask. Then G'Raha has the audacity to tell me to be cautious about going to new places to help someone that asked for my help rather than just abducting me.

The crew of the boat remind me of Biggs and Wedge, and the Nutkin makes me think its an Auspice, Thancred does not react like some dumb animal is crawling on him. If someone he knew had a nutkin pet/familiar it might make sense, Urianger most likely, if anyone.

An Auspice is an interesting idea! Another would be Oschon, on a roam in The New World.

He does have a nutkin pet in the Eorzea Academy manga,they love sticking Thancred with that little guy

Personally I think Erenville is the fourth candidate. Not because of his dialogue or such that we got that people have been discussing, but purely form the way the cast is set up on the poster! We've got Gulool Ja Ja in the very center and top, which makes sense given that the main plot (thus far) is this succession crisis and the fact that he's a king. At the bottom left we've got Wuk Lamat, with her supporters thus far to her left: Meteor, Krile, and Erenville. We already also know that Urianger and Thancred got sent a letter by an opposing claimant to the throne, and if the poster is mirroring Wuk Lamat that means the mamool ja on the bottom right is a claimant as well and I'm willing to bet it's her brother who's the warmonger. And then where I think the placement of characters comes in is with Erenville and the miqo guy. Miqo guy has very pretty telegraphed Academic looks, and we already know one of Wuk Lamat's siblings came to Sharlayan to study in secret. Presumably he is then a race that is common in the area, so he can't be the bottom right guy. So that leaves either Erenville (who is a gleaner yes but iirc gleaners still are people who graduated from the Studium!) or the Miqo guy, and I'm willing to bet SE is doing one of two things. 1) They're burying the lede on the student sibling being Erenville or 2) the student sibling is the Miqote man. And this would still help with the placement of characters on opposing, opposite-facing sides. The Miqote being another contestant naturally puts him in opposition to Wuk Lamat, so he's facing away from her, but maybe is less of a threat and tied to her character plot, so he's not immediately placed next to her as the more threatening brother is to keep them closely tied. But then... if all three siblings are on the poster, where's #4? Well, a good part of graphic design for stuff like this is containing elements into circles, squares, triangles, etc, to set up logical flow of eye movement and importance. And if all the other siblings are on the picture in bottom left, bottom right, and top right corners, then there's only one conclusion for top left: It's Erenville. He's opposite of the student sibling, making him less of an immediate candidate of importance too, but is importantly on Wuk Lamat's side of the poster -- because I think even though he could be a claimant to the throne (perhaps technically but not willingly, he seems to not be at all excited about what's going on), he's still on Wuk Lamat's side and even coming with her back home despite the likelihood that his real identity will be revealed despite him seemingly going to great pains to leave his old life behind as noted in his 6.5 dialogue and in the Encyclopedia vol 3. All that said, I do think the human woman up top is somehow involved in the politics, but I think she's a separate entity that is involved in a far larger plot, not just the smaller hook of getting us to Tural. My guess is she's something more to do with Solution 9 and all the other stuff we see, a sort of Ryne or Minfilia like character that is key to keeping the plot moving, which is why she's placed above Gulool Ja Ja in this setup, to denote that she is very separate from the plot but still vital to it. She outright says her sibling that came to study in secret was a Miqo'te, though. However I still think that Erenville is one of the four candidates.

I had also selected I wanted to stay out of politics but later on it essentially roped me in as oh but itll be an adventure!...I think it would have been better to say lets go over there and look, we can always back out if its beyond our paygrade

The narrative seems to suggest that is the case, at least in relation with our conversation on the bridge with Raha. But the dialogue right after would show us saying yes we are gonna participate. Raha's line. G'raha Tia: I don't blame you. No matter the assurances, it's no simple thing to wade into the midst of a political struggle, and in a foreign land at that. G'raha Tia: How about this, then. Instead of deciding here, go there first and then decide. G'raha Tia: In the course of seeing new lands and meeting new people, you'll surely find a way forward.

@@WyrmLimion That part was fine, but I think when we had the final talk with our new ally we basically say we are ready for an adventure. Its mostly me nitpicking that I wanted a more conservative answer to give her like,"I'll go with you and see the state of affairs myself before commiting to joining your cause." simply as you stated, we only have her word to go on

I'm also saying this as someone positively looking forward to starting the new arc, even despite knowing that this probably will and should be a slower start compared to recent expansions.
