Ok this one is reallllyyyy of complicated to explain, but it helps in the long run. For people who play with a controller: Instead of having to press R1 -> O/X/[] to get to your other hotbars then having to switch back, there's a setting that makes this step a lot easier. It makes it to where you just have to double tap R2/L2 or Holding L2 then R2 or vise versa then it will show you're hotbars that you assign for it. It sounds like a mouthful and too much work, but trust me it's useful. Example - I go through my first rotation on my main hotbar, instead of pressing R1-O and doing another rotation then pressing R1-Triangle to get back, I can double tap R2. I also use 4 hotbars. 1 - Main skills 2 - Passive/Main Skills 3 - Marks/Waypoints 4 - Mounts I access them all by only pressing two buttons for each. It saves like one step pretty much but it helps! You'd have to try it to understand I guess.

Basically, for those that aren't already doing it, you can set it up so that holding L2+R2, gives you access to half of one of your other cross bars. If you press R2 first though, then L2, it'll give you access to a different one. It's an option that you can enable, and allows for you to access half of cross bar 2 with one combination, or the other half with the other combination.

Oh hey, that's me. One other thing I remembered is that if you start a new character and want to get to other zones early (like if you're playing with a friend and you both started in different cities), you can ask to join a Free Company with a house in that area, then teleport to it and leave the residential district.

*OMG* The "compare prices" feature just saved my life!! I've been playing for 2 years & (embarrassingly) never knew! I seriously have been writing down each item I want to sell/update in a *notebook,* looking it up individually on the MB, then going back to my retainer to update the price. With 6 retainers usually selling at max (120 items total!), this took FOREVER. I'm so stoked I watched this video. Has this always been a thing & I'm just that clueless or is it newish?

in Character Configuration -> Control Settings -> Character tab, underneath the first three check boxes is the "auto-sheath weapon" button. It has a little slider under it to control the delay before that activates, if you want it to do it immediately after combat is over, just turn it all the way down. Right underneath that is a slider that lets you do the same for idle animations, so if you used /changepose or /cpose to give your character a different idle animation when standing, you can use that to immediately make them change. Right below -that- is a check box to make your character cycle through all available idle animations, and I think the slider might effect how long they stay in any given pose before changing. I haven't really tried that because I don't use that option, though. Also, about the clock; If you don't want to have multiple clock types running at the same time with the options you showed in the UI settings, you can just click the clock itself on your screen to cycle through them. (That might seem simple but I honestly didn't know about it for a long time so I thought I'd mention it.) And I am now hiding my duty list in dungeons. I can see more screen! Yay!

One vital feature for PS4 users, especially for Melee characters: Holding a trigger and pressing either L1 or R1 will lock on to the closest enemy and spamming it will cycle through the enemy list. I say Vital because spamming it will not only lock onto an enemy when it becomes targetable but sometimes you cant see the enemies and scrolling through with d pad is a nightmare.

When you have to turn in an item for a quest. When the item selection screen comes up just press square on the controller and it will show you the items you have that can be turned in HQ and NQ.

You can show or hide your quest in the duty list by opening your journal and toggle the button at the right of the quest (just beside the quest level). You can press ctrl+M to easily access the ABC ground marker. You can have your retainer sell items to the NPC In the crafting log, there is a favorite tab to show you the 10 most recent items that you crafted. In PC, you can press Home button to access the First Person mode. Very good for RP

If you can keep your cross hot bars to only 2, there is a setting that lets you just tap L1 to alternate between the two.

Under character settings you can find the clock settings and turn on or off the clocks :) you might also be able to get to it via the settings in HID

+Thony Louis Know work already covered it briefly but always better to have one char vs alts. You can have all classes on the same char and swap freely (Change weapons) once you unlocked. You also gain a boost to xp when leveling other classes as well long as you have one class that is higher. So if you have a single "combat" class to 60, all other jobs will level faster. Not 100% on the crafter / gathering ones or you have to level a crafter up to get bonus to all other crafter jobs. There is the armory chest so inv clutter should not be an issue. You would also need to re-unlock everything for each alt, which would be horrible to re unlock everything 10 times haha. The only "reason" it would ever be worthwhile to get alts is if you are a crazy hardcore raider and you want to get more runs in. Their is a weekly "loot lockout" for the current highest end 8 player raids so to gear other classes a few people make alts for that reason. But frankly that's taking it way far and their still is no real need to do so. But hey, to each his own I suppose. And as far as getting one class leveled 1st, yes it is a good idea to get one class leveled to 60 vs a ton at 40. But IMO, you should try all jobs you think'k you'd like to 20-30 at least. There's no point keep forcing yourself to play a class you kinda like to 60 just to stop playing it. It's a game should be having fun. I started bard got it to 50 but I tried WHM and loved it. So I now main WHM. Glad I tired it, so feel free to swap around. Though there is the risk of burning yourself out with it, why I suggest lower level to get a feel for it. Granted some jobs change a bit high level it's still the core class. So TLDR: There is no real plus to making alts, can have all classes on one (and get bonuses for doing so, so it's better to level all classes that you want to on one character). Oh and on buying it, SE sells it on their site as well. But keep in mind gotta buy any expansion on the same site. EI if you get the base game on steam, make sure you get the expansion steam. And the PC / PS4 versions are not interchangeable, meaning if you buy it for PS4 you can not play it on PC. Well wihtout having to buy the base game again (account can cross freely so won't have to restart). wolfhunter98 thanks for the info. I have a better understanding on the character cross classes. now I will be able to level up my character the right way. I was going to do an alt character but like you and work stated it was going to be for nothing because I would be wasting time building them up and not enjoying the game like I would with one character . And I just started and not tried raiding yet or even know where to start with that. Now the jobs that change with high levels, are you still able to swap through them too. for example the rogue change to ninja, can it change to a dragoon also. Oh yeah i bought the base game for the PS 4, So should I buy the disc for the expansion also. I checked the PS store and I see it there but there is no price or anything to show me how to download it. Again thanks wolfhunter98 for all the info. it was just what I want to know with more details. and it show me on how to handle my character classes/jobs and how I can start to get better gear too. I don't think that I'm on the Lamia sever but can I bring my character to another sever, if so then I can check your character out. but if I have any more questions than I will definitely ask for your help again. i only learned a half of a thing with this.. i knew u could sort by role in the party list.. but i overlooked that you can further sort bby job. other than that i knew all these things :( im always trying to learn more about the game though! and help others learn as well. as for the currency thing u can even right click on it to shuffle thru a few options of which currency you want it to display

what is the meaning of visor? i see it on the character screen window. not sure what it does

Paladin gear comes with full helmets just light knight in the real history, the Vizor is like a gate that opens and closes to show your face and allow for Knight historically to gain a better view of the battle field, as you can imagine the FOV whilst the vizor is down is somewhat limited. So this feature is something that is historically accurate to the type of gear. The Lv50 Iron Work helmet for Paladin as the vizor that lifts up and the light turn off, when the vizor is down the lights turn back on.

good videos, I will have to say this game is/was a bit confusing to me, and I played City of heroes for 8+ years and swtor for 5 and tera online. so not a new mmo player. been watching yours and any other videos about the starter game.
