I respect them for not putting out a release date until they're certain they can hit it. A lot of people schedule time off work for game releases, and this is one reason why Yoshi-P was so apologetic with Endwalker. Luckily, most people were cool about it under the circumstances. Still, it's considerate to wait until they're sure they can hit their launch projection.

I was bummed about it until I heard their reasoning, then I understood why they held off on a concrete release date. I'm fine regardless waiting for both 6.55 and Dawntrail, God Eater 2 is keeping me busy. Got to the Marduk fight earlier and it made me realize that God Eater always has at least one epic fight in its story with a great song. GE1 has No Way Back, GE2 has Wings of Tomorrow, and GE3 has Nemesis

I fear these spell and sounds effects will become very annoying after hours in raids. I have the visuals as Limited as turning it fully off makes it harder to keep track of healers stuff as well as not turning sounds of party fully off :/ If it does become annoying I hope they edit the spells and sounds or create a separate settings to turn just Picto off xD

I still find it hard to believe that we won't be facing the end of the world once again after a couple of hours. I mean otherwise this has kinda signs of Stormblood again, not to mention even stuff like Bozja had end of the world painted on it for the final part of the story. Maybe it will be the end of a kingdom or something, but I doubt we will get an actual chill expansion, that would hardly be an adventure..

I’m really hoping for another and better Stormblood as that’s my favourite one so far. However this is with the caveat that I’m currently in the part between the end of Shadowbringers and the start of Endwalker. I’ll be honest though while I enjoyed Shadowbringers it hasn’t really connected with me. Maybe it’s because we’re not on the Source. It’s just an alternate reality and I didn’t like the gradual light corruption of the WoL. I vastly preferred Heavensward and Stormblood.

@@pandamonium9255 Admittedly I didn’t play all of FF11. I quit a few months after the third Abyssea came out. I still don’t know why. I played for several years. Occasionally took a short break but always came back. But then one day, I never did. After several months I finally shut down my account and have never regretted it. It’s one of the mysteries of my life because I still don’t know why I became indifferent to it. But still, I did play for several years, through the base game, Zilart, Promathia, and bit of ToAU and WotG. I well remember the anxiety of fighting the Shadow Lord both times since I had two characters! I keenly remember being frustrated with the lvl 20 mini summon fights. I couldn’t beat all of them and had to get my LS friends to beat the lvl 75 versions while I cowered in the corner! Though I think one of my most nervous sessions was doing Dynamis-Xarcabard. Most of us hadn’t done it before except for the group of core leaders, but after a few lengthy battle plans we succeeded. And as the Pld I was nervous as heck about timing my use of the 2hr “Invincible” ability during the Dynamis Lord fight! I bet you have several stories of your own. Anyway much like with FF14, I joined FF11 quite late on and it just so happens that the release of ToAU happened during the height of my time in Vaba'diel. I still treasure the memory of the wonder an excitement I felt during that fifteen (real world) minute boat ride to Aht Urghan, crammed in with dozens of fellow adventurers all making the same journey as me. We chatted excitedly with each other, looking forward to the new zones, stories and Blue Mage, Corsair and Puppetmaster. Then actually arriving and getting to explore a mildly laggy Aht Urghan. Oh how much fun I had over the next few hours and days! Good times. One legacy of FF11 is the music. I still remember many of them clearly. And here I am now. A latecomer to FF14 I joined a few months before Endwalker was released. Admittedly I'm in the post-Shadowbringers pre-Endwalker content. But that's mainly because I've got two character, take breaks from time to time (coming back from one now actually) and I've levelle several jobs to 80. And spent way too much time logging, mining and especially fishing. And in the Gold Saucer. Anyway, I should have enough time to get at least one of my two characters through Endwalker before Dawntrail releases. (My second character might have to wait a bit before going to the First.) If possible I do want to play Dawntrail as I did ToAU with orher players. Though I'll have to make time for my new and final alt as a female Hrothgar. I've been waiting a long time for her.

2:35 they mentioned it because in previous game(s) pictomancer was translated as duplicant, but as it has some connotations they dont want to keep they are changing the german name for this and for any future incarnations of the job EDIT: not connotations, meant implications (mixed up the words lol)

@Arkanus7 no negatives, it was because relm in FF6 actually drew the monsters/attacks, so she was technically "duplicating" them, but in ff14 and from now on, they will call it pictomancer in all translations since they will have skills other than just "duplicating" attacks/monsters and don't want any issues with it later on, it's just a future proof thing

So personally I’m very excited for the female Hrothgar. They’re actually very close to how I imagined they would be. Slightly less muscular than I’d imagined but not enough for me to complain! I’ve been waiting for them since male Viera and female Hrothgar were first announced a long time ago. Now I’m not going to race change my main character as I struck perfection first time with the character creator with my midlander Hyur female but I will use the fantasia to alter her appearance if the graphic update mutates her into something hideous. But I will absolutely be creating my third alt as a female Hrothgar as by then it’ll be nice to go through the old content again and refresh my memory. I’m mildly interested in the new Viper job as it looks quite interesting. I’ll probably unlock it and give it a try. Despite being a red mage main, occasionally foraying into Smn, Sch and Whm I have absolutely zero interest in Pictomancer. It just doesn’t do anything for me although the concept is interesting. It’s highly unlikely that I’ll even bother unlocking it. As for the new continent I kinda get “treasures of Aht Urghan” vibes from it like we did in FF11. The underlying themes of crossing the ocean to an entirely new continent previously closed to outsiders, being very, very different from anywhere else we’d been before are very similar. Though admittedly I never got very far into ToaU storyline all those years ago. The Mamool Ja also remind me of it. I was hoping for an FF14 take on Corsair and Puppetmaster though. Admittedly I’m looking forward to returning to the adventuring, geopolitical kind of storylines. I’m really hoping that it follows a more HW-StBld vibe-particularly the latter. Now I should mention that I’m currently in the era between the end of Shadowbringers and the start of Endwalker. I dunno, I enjoyed Shadowbringers overall but it didn’t really connect with me like the rest of the game has. I never wanted to go to the First and never really cared about it. Honestly I can’t wait to be done with the First. Nor did I like the gradual light corruption of the WoL. I’ve got a fairly good idea of what to expect in Endwalker. A LOT of “the world is going to end unless we stop it,” a lot of cosmic Hydelyn, Zodiark, Ancients and Ascian stuff. Not sure how much I’m going to like it, but a return to more adventuring geopolitical stories gives me hope for Dawntrail.

I'm sad BST is latter half of 7.X. Especially if island sanctuary is a pre-emptive test for the capture mechanics. It basically leaves the details on how each type/archetype of pet will perform. Alongside if they require training and raising like the companion chocobo does.

i still think my talisman class would be a sick idea, a type of ofuda that instead of warns off spirits can summon them, and the talismans can float around you like how sages weapon does, you do mudra hand movements but not have to remember moves like ninja, magic range obvs XD and can shoot like mystic fire balls out of your hands

I was hoping for an FF14 take on Corsair(maybe dual wielding pistol and sword functioning as a melee DPS that occasionally uses ranged attacks with various bullet types) and Puppetmaster. The Mammets already exist ingame in the lore and could have easily been adapted without the new continent cultural redesign. It would have been nice to have an actual pet job where the Mammet could augment the player’s strength or perform high power combo attacks with the player. I’m curious about Viper enough that I might give it a try but even though I main as red mage, Pictomancer is a hard no for me.

Viper is cool of course but I knew pictomancer was going to be something special, I debated on it being green mage or something to do with painting and hopefully pictomancee will be really good. I've always liked support roles in games, ast is my main healer and I like it because it has some support combined with healing. I wonder if pictomzncer will be dps or healer class, not sure if it was memtioned

@@hollowgriefbandI completely agree with you. Even in FF11 we had a complete set of summons. Carbuncle, Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Ramuh and Leviathan were the original ones. You started with just Carbuncle then at lvl 20 you could fight and if you won you got them as a summon. Or, because those fights were very hard you could fight them at lvl 75 as any job either solo or as part of a group and choose making a pact with it as your reward. Then there was Fenrir. But again that wouldn’t work for FF14 because I vaguely remember him being a boss fight either in the pre-HW part or HW. I don’t remember. But again FF14 isn’t short on Primals to choose from. Later on you could unlock Diabolos, though admittedly that one wouldn’t work in FF14 because he’s a Voidsent. But we could easily substitute him with one of the many other Primals we’ve encountered. Ravana would be cool, for example. I heard that eventually you could get Alexander as a Summon in FF11 but I never got far enough into ToAU to confirm. Yet again it wouldn’t work in FF14 but again plenty of choices. There might have been more in the future expansions I didn’t play but either way there was a lot more options. I mean if they wanted to add Ramuh. Leviathan and… well Shiva might not be possible but maybe a similar ice based Primal. Now that the “summon” part has been replaced into mere spells it would be easy to just animate a few new shapes for Carby to briefly morph into as spells. (Yes, I’m still a little bitter that they turned Ifrit, Garuda and Titan from summons to spells and turned Carby into a useless watcher. I wouldn’t be so mad if they’d kept Carby auto attacking and casting spells even if the damage was next to nothing. No wonder I converted to Red mage.)

Was most hyped for Solution Nine, mainly because I was disappointed with Neomuna in Destiny 2 (which I believe is a retcon in the lore of Destiny as well). I remember being excited to have a whole city as a destination in Lightfall but felt sad due to how empty and shallow Neomuna was upon release. Solution Nine I'm more confident about because I trust the FFXIV devs to deliver on a truly great area like that and nake it feel alive. I still wish to this day that Neomuna had civilians in the city caught up in the war, and we had to assist them in getting to safety. A city is only good in a game if it feels alive, after all

At first i didn't know how to feel about femroth but damn it the more i see them the more they grow on me. (I'm trying not to have 8 characters again! T^T) "Leave me alone, Character creator" xD Pictomancer is just a must for my lalafell. I'll pick it up for my miqo'te too. Why they gotta make femra more beautiful than they already are? @@Aruru_XIV I’ve got a midlander Hyur female rdm, Smn, Sch and Whm between lvl 73-82. I’m in the questline between the end of Shadowbringers and the start of Endwalker. My second character is a seawolf Roegadyn female Pld and Sam, lvls 76-78 about midway through Stormblood. This is actually pretty good by my standards. In games where there is more than one race I can end up with 4-8 characters. All I can say is that I really like the roleplay aspects and create unique characters which is why fantasia doesn’t work for me. I’ve wanted a female Hrothgar character ever since I heard about the Hrothgar race. Mind you I’m very tempted to make an Au’Ra ninja though.

I would hope they could add the Beastmaster as a job even free trial can use, like BLU. Just make it from level 60 maybe or something so those of us who can't afford a sub can at least give them a try. But the model updates are looking even better than last time! :)
