Selling Maps is good gil too. Basically if you do your daily collection and get the high end full group maps, you can average 40,000 to 65,000 a map. That's anywhere from 280,000 - 450,000 gil a week depending on your market. You can average 1.5 mil gil a month if you are diligent in grabbing that 1 map each day.
@FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
Oh, absolutely! And not just the newest ones, either. Like I wrote somebody else the other day, the Gazelleskin (and even sometimes the Dragonskin) ones go for up towards 100k gil right now. I understand the Gazelleskin because of the current Uznair challenge, but I can't quite understand why the Dragonskin ones are selling so well, aside of people maybe wanting to participate in map-fun, but not being of a level to run it in SB or ShB zones? :thinking: Either way, great shout, and I absolutely agree that seeing how it is free gil, and it literally takes between 1-5 minutes to get one, it should be a stable to pick one up every day. :) So great suggestion!

Very well done guide! The links to other detailed guides is appreciated as well. I'd like to throw in my 2 cents on playing the market though, as someone that played the market in both WoW and FFXIV: I would heavily caution against trying to sell expensive and/or luxury items on the player market. It's true everyone will want them, but no one will be willing to pay what they are worth. Those that would be willing to pay, usually already have it. It's a massive trap that leads to the nearly unreversible 'asset rich, cash poor' situation.
@FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
This is true, especially for some of the rare items that just come out, which tends to stabilize. I personally prefer items that sell for less but sell often, because while it is true that you'd make more if you sell a very expensive luxury item, it may sit on your retainers for a long time. So the sale-history is generally a good friend! Check if the item actually has a regular history of selling these days before you go and invest lots and lots of gil into something. :D That is sage advice, indeed. ^^

Always delighted to see a video of yours, Fay! And what a great video this is tho! Mostly because it's such a good compilation of things one can do, as well as a wonderful archive of links to various guides, making it incredibly useful for just about anyone and everyone. Absolutely amazing work! Oh, and I love the art, as always. Especially the dodo WoLs that had me rolling. XD Granted, gil-making is something I never really get into, mostly because I'm too lazy to, but I really should try and at least pick up the GC seals methods, cause I am ALWAYS swimming in seals. Gear farming is something I do really often, and my retainers bring stuff back on a regular basis, so I'm constantly turning stuff in to my GC. It's literally how I got my FC to rank 25 more or less completely on my own. XD Definitely saving this video with all of its helpful links and such so I can look more into stuff whenever I need to, so thank you!

I am so happy you found something useful to do with your playstyle. I really think that's the trick to liking gil-making; to find something that fits with YOUR way of playing and enjoying the game. I have many alts, and so I need gil on multiple characters to glam and gear them, and so I can't do the investments of time and energy to get somebody to proper heavy endgame contents like for instance endgame crafting. Just not gonna happen. ^^;; So I have found other ways that I can weave in between doing stuff I love in the game, and I really hope this overview will remind some players of those little things that can help you profit just a little bit quite easily. :) And thank you!

@@FinalFay Aye, I know the feel. While a good chunk of my alts is on my main server so I can just get stuff for them using my mains, I do have characters on other servers and DCs, and getting them stuff has always been a bit of a headache. @FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
You are so very welcome, and congratulations on getting all of your crafters and gahterers maxed out! :D That's quite the achievement! There are also some great recipes from the Master recipe books that you buy for scrips that are only craftable with high levelled crafters, so there may be some gil to get in those as well. ^^ I personally have sold a lot of Indigo Summer Shirts, because Indigo Cloth has been cheap (people have been running maps like crazy as of late), and you only need 3 for a shirt, so if the cloth is 50k and the shirt is 300, then there's a decent profit to be made in making those. ^^ But I am happy you got some inspiration from this. ^^ I guess what I really wanted to highlight is that there are SO many different ways to make gil, and none of them are more 'right' than another. It's all just a matter of what makes sense to you as you play and can be planned easily around the way you play or the content that you enjoy. :) Best of days to you, and thank you for giving this a look! :D

Another thing that's currently available: If you're already getting Tomestones of Pageantry and don't plan to use them, Hingan Cleaning Supplies and Grand Chair both sell for about 95k on my server for 30 Tomestones, and Verdant Partition is 180k for 60 tomestones. They're not really worth farming though UNLESS you can get a raid group together to do hardmode Hades, in which case you can get both tomestones and Hades Auracite which sells for about 900k on my server
@FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. And I am buying up a few of the emotes and hairstyles, because they will for sure be worth more than 100 k in the future again. 😁👍It is likely not something one should invest a lot of Gil into, but thankfully if they don't rise in price, they will still make for excellent gifts! So the moogle stone farm is likely alright outside of Hades, too, as long as you are willing to sit on the earned goods for a while. 😊 Good shout!

especially if you combine it with Adventure Tales and Junk you get from your retainers. The book can get you a single platinum coin which is worth 10k that alone covers half the 40k you can get. So the remaining half can be done with the junk from the retainers or any coins you have gain over time. Speaking of coins I think everyone should save theirs till you have access to this, then you can just double it all over time.
@FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
@@Gamemaster-64 Absolutely! And this is a very good point! The gil isn't going anywhere, and with a bit of patience, you can double it! Sure, it is a bit of a long quest chain, but if you've done it before then it's fairly easy to run-skip through, and if you haven't then you get to experience a pretty neat story. :) So absolutely! If you're reading these comments and haven't done this already; go do the Doman Enclave and save your gil-gaining items that you could sell to vendors like platinum pieces and the like until you have unlocked this! :D

There are tradecraft leve quests that requests say a item that could be plentiful at lower levels, you can spam those quest over and over again for certain leve npcs because they do not have enough varieties to get swapped out. Even better if you can get your hand at HQ items that can be traded in for double the rewards. You earn 8 points for leve quests each day and sometimes you don't play for a day or week and forgot about it, and it ends up capping at 100 points.
@FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
Indeed! :D And I will again highlight the guide I linked to in the video, because I feel Ashely at Gamerskinny have done an amazing job in figuring out which leves are repeatable and worth the effort, exp and craft-wise at least. www.gameskinny.com/4rc10/ffxiv-leveling-craftingtradecrafts-with-repeatable-leves-guide Pretty sure they're also solid for the gil-reward, honestly. Of course the later game leves are much more profitable, but even at the lower levels there are great ones that can, as you say, be spammed over and over again. And considering that you get 6 new leves every day that are basically just free gil and exp waiting to happen, it is a pretty damn good inbuilt gil-making method! Plus, some really cool titles are locked behind those leve-quests, too! :D Even though some of them will take quite a bit of leve-grinding to get. ^^;;

@FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
This is why I shouldn't try math. ^^;;; Right, I should make a comment with little corrections like that. It is interesting, though that that is on an 18 hour run... Makes me feel like I am a retainer doing a long venture. :ponders: Thank you for the praise, I did sink a lot more time into this than I thought I would, but it was great because it was things I could add in small gaps between work and the rest of my RL. :) Still, a lot more ambitious than I intended it to. XD Oh well, now I got to learn how to use nestled animations at least! :D I do hope you'll find a method or two you like. You're certainly well positioned with your mad skills for the Crafting, but I also get if you'd like to branch out into more things than the fiercest MB PvP! ^^;; Did you manage to get the PC fixed, by the by?
@QyorriaFFXIV3 жыл бұрын
@@FinalFay That's pretty much it, being a retainer doing long venture and that's nice way to make a timer. Gotta be a MB PVP Mentor or veteran. xD It took some time but I made a new pc from pieces that didn't broke and new ones.. Those seals can be used to buy Ventures for your Retainers, but more importantly, Aetheryte Tickets. All of these gil making techniques probably involve a lot of teleporting, so use those tickets to make all those trips free of charge. The best way to make money is to not spend it in the first place.

Yep! So effectively you can carry 3 of a given type on your person. Like I said in the video, I am totally guilty of generally running around with one opened (then it goes under Key Items instead, haha!! Clever system, we shall outfox you!!), one in a bottle (in my inventory), and one in the saddlebag. ^^;; Be prepared, I guess? I don't have a map problem! I can stop ANYtime the game runs out of them! 8D So you can carry 3 of the same type on you by opening one and having another in the saddlebag, and then if you have any extra you can have them on your retainers or send them for the rest, so there is really no reason NOT to pick up a map every day. :D They are fantastic fun to run, give good gil-prizes for your time invested into them, and they also sell pretty well! :D

They are just as beautiful and fun to run and the rewards are good, too! :D And thank you! I am happy you found it helpful, and I do hope it can help inspire new and old players to find new or different ways to get gil. ^^ After all, it is a game that has plenty valid methods of doing so! :D Best of days to you and best of luck on your map runs! :D Cheers!

Its funny, im max level crafter and gatherer, and i have access to most gil making methods in the game. I always come back to the simplest and laziest method though. I just resell vendor gear, ppl are willing to pay the lazy tax to get in on mb, and im happy to oblige. Just the other day i logged in after filling my retainers with resell gear, had about 300k gil waiting on me. It fluctuates of course, but right now im making easy good gil.
@FinalFay3 жыл бұрын
This is VERY true. The lazy-tax is a thing, and I will admit that I have paid that many times. Where I haven't felt like returning to a city to get this or that, and I just buy it. Same goes for the different components that you can buy from the Tradecraft Supplier that's always near the MB in any starter city, as well as the vendors you can put in flats or houses. :) So if you have patience or do some research on the market, there's a LOT of gil to be made by revendoring things. :D Good shout! And very beginner friendly (not free trial friendly, though, sadly, because it requires the use of the MB) as you can do this the moment you get a retainer, and there will likely always be stuff that can be revendored! :D Also goes for 'flipping' items between servers. Stuff I usually look for are emotes, hairstyles and trophies/components for trophies, but there are several stuff that sell differently on different servers! Glams and stuff like that, too. Thanks for putting this on the list, because this is a VERY valid and accessible way of gaining gil! :) Best of days to you!

Maybe having to save for Ishgardian Housing have made people slightly more aware of where they spend there gil? *Ponders* I am not sure what it is exactly, but I agree that there's been a lot more levelling of the prices between servers on the datacenter. At least on mine, too.

I went as a miner to diadem. Mined away watching 2 episodes of a seroes and made about 500-600k selling all the raw material :)

Indeed! :D And that is a pretty geat yield! Add to that that you can buy emotes or hairstyles for the Skybuilder's scrips, or buy the skybuilders material that is needed to make the replica skypirate stuff, or even make those, and it all racks up pretty damn impressively! :D So this one is pretty damn good right now, still. I guess a lot of people are doing the Ishgardian Restoration here in the lull between patches, maybe? Either way, best of day to you and happy continued gilmaking! :D

Oh, I read that article, too! O___o It has really established the reputation of a subset of the roleplaying community of this game (although I also think that most people know that that community is as much coffee shops and libraries and adventuring parties as it is brothels, to be fair). And hey, if it works for them, I guess that's just another way to make gil for those who're into that, right? ^^
