FFXIV: I Was Sleeping On Treasure Maps

In this video I talk about FFXIV's Treasure map dungeons. This is content I had pretty much ignored up until now, especially after ARR maps set my expectations. Surprisingly, this content is actually really fun and chill, and also a fantastic way to make a lot of gil without too much effort.

I say never do, "your map, your loot" because eventually, something good will drop, and somebody is going to try to take it, doing need when they shouldn't. Sure, you'll kick them out, but they now have your item. If it's free for all from the start, you can't get stabbed in the back.

I used to run maps a lot in the stormblood era, which also included thief's maps. You didnt mention them here but the achievement for completing the final floor of those 20 times is one of the rarest achievements in the game. First, they drop randomly from gazelleskin portal dungeons, and once you get in the thief's map dungeon, you have to choose from 3 doors for each floor. I can say i have only completed this with a group one time. It's insane. Otherwise, I agree wih you. FFA is a lot more fun even if you aren't guaranteed anything, and i like to have at least the illusion of choice. Maps are fun with a group of friends regardless though and I need to pick them up again. Great video!

I do these with just my gf. She goes warrior and I go machinist. It goes quite well and is pretty exciting trying to survive and you dont have to share loot with many people (we share everything so for us it's always a win)

I prefer the roulettes, since it feels like there's variety in the fights depending on what you land on, while the two-door dungeons' first four rooms feel all the same.

FFA is the way to go imo, I find it more fun to get it twisted. But I also haven’t done a map party in months, I’ve been duoing with a friend because it works for our weird ass schedules, managed to reach the last boss of Excitatron twice thus far It is very tedious as outlined, but I’m okay with that, I have very low standards

As someone who did the morbol grind like 6(?) months ago? A8S is indeed the most annoying fight of the bunch, but honestly really fun too, with the latest patch of spells gavel skip should be 100% possible too, so hopefully that goes in your favour! That, A12S and T13 on BLU was some of the most fun content I’ve even done in my whole time playing the game.

For the record, the zone sets which version of the treasure dungeon you're going to run. In EW, Anything pre-moon is roulette, anything post moon is the Excitatron, I believe.

Nice vid, the elpis maps I wouldn't advise less than 3 people, the standing tiger plus the ads can fk you up fast. Never knew blue can solo them though. I haven't done any blue in ages, any guides to get back into it?

Even if I like Owner need more I got 2 out of 3 burning Horns from FFA.. and yet got a third ;-; I wish I had a group to grind the HELL out of these maps, cause as completionnist ol me, getting to the end 20 times is insane. It also hurts so much hearing people selling these super rare drops cause lil me "requires" them to complet things :') but ye uhh Left door forever!

Ophiotauroskin and Khumbiraskin for Endwalker. Zonureskin for shadowbringers.

Out of the 160 clears required to get every Treasure Hunt achievement and title, I am currently at 120. There is now nothing in the game, nor in life, that I despise more than running treasure maps.

if you dont have Blu lvled you can 3 man the lvl 80 maps at 90

WAR + any dps easily solos 80 maps tbh, not even that slow either
