Honestly they should really make the Hall of the Novice update be at multiple levels. Add new mechanics you can practice there as they become available to happen. If you can get a tank buster in sastasha then that mechanic should be practiceable when you get to the Hall on the way there.

A good one would be the boss indicating the attack and not the orange aoe. Like the boss raising a single arm to cleave one side. Would be good to teach sprouts to watch the boss.

I agree, but I also have to point out that you don't need to understand what a tankbuster is in Sastasha. Tankbusters in ARR generally don't hurt enough to even mitigate for.

​@@lordflamegxfire if you want to make some easy big gil without playing the market board id invest some time in eureka. Sure there are tons of rare items there you can sell but once you get to the last zone hydadtos that's where it gets good. People from groups and kill high level mobs that drop boxes that give platinum prices the sell to vendors for 10k. Its a guaranteed 500k-600k gil per night window which is 35 minutes. this is how I make most of my gil I fughin hate crafting

I like the housing stuff, but I wish they would give us more freedom with item placement, not a fan of having to use shelves to float stuff onto lofts

I’d also add that even if you don’t want to use mods or plugins! you can still play with Makeplace. It’s a completely separate game and it uses final fantasy housing as kinda like an animal crossing simulator. So you can decorate to your hearts content and get ideas.

As a newer player that started last year, the duty support for non msq dungeons is such a great QoL enhancement. It should be a great addition for those wanting to play the extra stuff, but not big on partying up with random people.

The thing is, it is an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online roleplaying game), the idea is to meet new random people and make friends. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to do stuff with npcs and love how they are adding stuff, but I dont think it's a good idea to remove the social interaction in the game.

@@zeliemine I’ll explain my why: I hadn’t played an MMO in a while prior to joining XIV and most, including this one, were because people I knew played. That said, when I joined, all of my friends were on a different server that at the time I couldn’t move to or create a character in and a lot of the interesting social stuff (mainly the free company part) seemed to be locked behind being on a specific server. I was enjoying the story for sure and the gameplay was fun, but I tend to get a bit self conscious when I play with random people, especially as a new player in the game at the time. Overtime, I got over it for sure, but it would have been a bit easier hurdle to get over to deal with some of the trails. For me as a person with a weird work schedule, I tend to not play at peak hours and doing some of the older trails at the start led to longer queue times. If I could have had the option to do it with NPCs, I probably would have. These days, I’ve since moved servers to the one my friends play on, but I do see the value in having duty support. Whiles for the most part the XIV community is pretty good, sometimes it’s hard to jump into a thing with a bunch of random people, especially if they’re new to it or the class they’re playing.

So if the patch is coming out in the middle of November 2024, so that means the Moogle Treasure Trove will occur 4 weeks before that and would overlap with the annual All Saints' Wake, which would be towards the end of October. I hope they break their recent trend of giving crappy rewards for this annual event and instead give us something like a decent costume or mount.

Huh. Wasn't expecting the Pelupelu to be the combat tribe. I thought for sure it was going to be the X'braal. Considering....the quests were entirely about hunting and keeping the forest safe from dangerous creatures. So then are they going to be a gathering tribe? Because for sure the Moblins/Hanu Hanu will be the crafting society right?

Look at the class quest for the combat jobs, you were covering their weakness, Pelupleu are tradesman, not warriors, makes sense they need combat classes to help out.

@@adamshira6368 Honestly my thought was that because they're tradesmen we were going to gather exotic new resources for them or something. Although I suppose there was the quest with one merchant hiring the Yok Huy as a bodyguard, so this was an angle already.

Hall of the novice should be a requirement for the new player experience in order for them to continue MSQ. Like the direction they are taking with housing if you have a small and you want to have the interior of a large then will be possible to change. Now they if can take that same system and apply to exterior like if you brought a small their should be a option for you if have the gil to upgrade the size of your plot. So if you have a small and you really wanted to get a large home if your pay the remodeling cost of for a large Ex: 45 mil gil and this can be adjust on grade of plot you brought then this would help making it more possible for folks that wanted to get a new home have a higher chance since they can start off with a small and gradually work their way towards the desire house they want without the worry of the lottery system.

Being able to increase the housing interior size is fab, but pointless for designers if you don't also get the same item slots as a large, hopefully it also gives you the item slots to whatever interior size you upgrade to.

Oh great point, hopefully they thought about this. God's know we all want those extra slots. Even still, I wouldn't say it would be "totally" pointless for designers. Even without the extra slots I'm working in a medium now and if i could swap out the space and ditch the pillars that would still be fab even if I didn't get the extra slots. But I can't imagine they would make you pay for the large then not give you large house slots.

this all started with a promise of more housing slots, if they really do let us upgrade interiors there's no way in hell that wouldn't also include the slots. the real question is if they're going to actually increase the slots beyond the current cap of 400, my FC's mansion is struggling with just 400 slots.

I was so upset when I learned that their initial looks at making different room sizes for apartments was apparently scrapped (this feature was announced around Stormblood's release iirc? It's been a long time in either case). So hearing this gives me hope that they will do this for apartments too. Now my FC will finally have reason to spend the gil we've been just holding onto lol.

Maybe for PvP they will finally remove the pointless Distance mechanic for Bard so we can actually do somewhat reasonable damage at closer range... I genuinely don't understand why this is still a mechanic when Bard already has such low damage... why should we do even less damage at closer range, it doesn't even do good damage at long range.

Right. It would make sense if we didnt get slowed down while attacking. With attacking slow and getting punished for distance its stupid. They already gimped bard because we had 1 good thing going for us. Ranged is the bastard child of FF14. Its not just pvp.

I am intrigued by the interior design. I have a medium and was just hoping for a layout that had the stairs stacked in one corner. but if we could just buy an internal upgrade to a large.. that's going to be an amazing update. I wonder if that means you'll get the ability to place the same number of items inside as an actual large house or are those houses still going to be limited.

The use of the word "Sprout" is kinda confusing when talking about the Hall of the Novice section. I know it means "beginner" but I am a "sprout" and I am almost done with Shadowbringer lol I never realised that those combat mechanics come into play just at the end of ARR, but it is definitely a welcome addition. It still is very confusing to get into a new boss-battle and have to yell at your friend "Now, wth is this above my head??" :P

You stop being a 'beginner' once you get to Heavensward, you can still say it's your first time doing something, but the sprout system for this game is ridiculously generous. What other game do you know where you would be considered a 'beginner' at level 50, let alone up to level 90 like it takes for the sprout icon to go away on its own?

OH THANK GOD FOR INTERIOR SIZE CHANGES! My FC has been working on getting a mansion plot FOREVER! Doing this will make our housing inside so much cleaner! I'm still excited for the Alliance Raid of course. I may not gotten into FF11, and probably never will due to FFXIV's way to do it, but I'll learn its story to get into the raid.
