Another tip for Rathalos phase 1, as a melee. If you're always standing on HIS left foot, none of his aoes will ever hit you. All of the aoes hit his right/front/back, but not complete left. Phase 2, just don't be infront of him.

Bro I swear there is NO cure for single target Doton sometimes. Some days I genuinely consider writing and sending a letter to Square Enix HQ begging them to hardcode something into the game that disables the possibility of using Doton if there's only 1 enemy on the aggro table lol

Okay, smoothbrain here: but what's wrong with Duton, even if it's single target? I genuinely want to learn. To me, I see it as a DoT because you generally get Mudra charges back pretty quick. Is it really that much of a loss to use one up as the DoT even if it's single target?

The problem is FFXIV DoT effects tick once every 3 seconds (besides Flamethrower which ticks every second), meaning Doton's single target DoT potency is 80 x (18/3) = 480. And that's assuming the enemy stands in the puddle the whole time. Even if we count Hollow Nozuchi procs which are 50 potency each and only trigger off AoE combos/mudras, the mudra opportunity cost to potency ratio is way too low for single target compared to Raiton. Raiton does a 740 potency upfront hit for the same Mudra, and later also grants Raiju Ready which is another 700 potency. The only time Doton is a gain on bosses is if you have 2 bosses who stand in it the whole time, and before level 90 grants us Raiju.

Mentor roulette is the best roulette in FFXIV. I am currently doing mentor roulettes on my 2nd mentor character. I am currently aiming on doing it on 3 different characters. 1st character was completed 24th Dec. 2023 :3

Even though I have 1,5k hours in FFXIV I have to say I absolutely despise the fact that it pretends to be this noob friendly game because by God, the amount of people I've seen that never touched video games in their lives and still have no idea what the hell they're doing even at max level is beyond baffling. 4:20 this part is cringe. maybe they just havent played ninja in a while who cares if they are playing optimally in a alliance raid. you dont know of they were qued in the mentor roulette or not just because someone is amentor doesnt mean they need to play optimally at all times dont take it so seriously

Normally yes. I don't care. But this person is wearing a Mentor of Mentors title (500 Mentor Roulettes done), and they are doing an aoe rotation on a single target boss. This is the equivalent of a cooking class instructor burning eggs 5 times in a row in front of you. Like I can't play my alt jobs optimally in AR either, sometimes I drop 1 gcd out of my burst, but I don't go around doing Hellfrog on a single boss in melee range. I expect more from this person because they're wearing a title that is supposed to mean they have a modicum of experience.
