Training hall getting a makeover is years overdue and it being done in general is nice. Something else I'd like to see is players automatically upgrading from class to job at lv30 and instances requiring class /job quests completed up to queued instance level. Hall of the Novice is for many outlandish and obscure. This announcement too, will doubtless get flame from those waiting for viera and hrothgar hats

People who are not new players often forget they cannot gauge new player experience. Practice will teach you something important not even experienced players learn: what you need to learn. You wont be successful in teaching something if the person in question is not aware it is important and new players wont know it until it becomes important TO THEM. One thing ALL MMORPGs are guilty of is sacrificing new player experience with a concept of fun that is not in everyone's mind: Novelty. If the game did not introduced so many instances in which you are taken from your character to perform "special task bar" or "vehicle combat" or other diverging gameplay unless you WANT it, people would invest themselves in the needs of a gameplay that is the core of their gameplay. You are tired of your routines ? Try another job, try "specific" non mandatory quests in which you are a vehicle, you are a NPC, you are a dog, you are a pile of crap, dont matter. But they should stop "multiplying gameplay experience" unless it is something people are doing for the sake of that experience. How would you really learn your class if you are required to do different things throughout gameplay, and then you are thrusted in a part of MSQ, or part of class, job, or role quests in which you have to not actually be your class, role or job ?
@The-die-youve-createdАй бұрын

@Michael-jx9bhАй бұрын
The "graduation" shouldn't be mandatory for people with a level 50+ character on their account. Or we should have a big incentive to "graduate" - like a mount or some very nice glam. Too many players have reached maximum level (too many times) for graduation to be mandatory - it would just be weird, like there is no need.

Plus it's always fun when you die to doom in Dun Scaith because neither healer uses esuna. I don't think it should be mandatory for normal content but I could see a case for it being required for extremes or higher, at least in the duty finder not including premade groups.

If they are going to do it at level 49 let it give the level 50 poetics gear that would make the reward worth the time
@8BitCerberusАй бұрын
Depends on how long it takes for the new ones. The level 15 ones only take about 15-20 minutes for all stages, per role, and any subsequent runs with another role (for their gear sets) is even faster because you can skip any shared stages that don't reward a piece of the gear set. If the lvl 49 stages take ~15-20 minutes per role, getting a full set of poetics gear might be a bit much. But I would like them to reward something for sure, whether that's a new glam set, or maybe a one-time ~500 poetics (roughly equivalent to a single MSQ roulette reward), or something else I dunno. Maybe another XP bonus ring that's good for up to level 80 or 90.

Blizzard tried to do a mandatory 'learning tool' and it caused people to quit so much that Blizzard abandoned it after just a few patches. People shouldn't be barred from the game until they pass an exam. That's not how people want to spend their free time. It is very important to remember this is a HOBBY. No lives are at stake. Nobody is hurt by someone screwing up. This is just for fun. Forcing people to do it would be an ENORMOUS error. The occasional new player screwup is not a big problem - much better to not make people feel like they're second class citizens unless they pass an exam. Better tools for people to learn? SINGLE! TIME! Stacks, spreads, tankbusters, etc. must be EXACTLY THE SAME AT ALL TIMES. Players need to be TOLD TO THEIR FACES to update their gear. The number of times I've seen piss-weak tanks and healers with gear far below the level of the dungeon they're doing is enough that if I had a nickel for each incident I'd have enough to pay my utility bills. The biggest defect the game has is that is has a rotation. We have have no battles. Instead we have boring pre-scripted dances that do not change at all between interactions. Instead of rotations we should have attack, defense and counter attack. Something much less predictable than doing the same bullshit rotation over and over. Heck the worse healers in the game are raid healers. They get too accustomed to pre-scripted healing that when they get into a dungeons they let the tank die. They are dancers. Not healers.
@InquisitorThomasАй бұрын
Do you even play the game? Why would we need defenses and counters if the enemies are all aggroed on the Tank? Sure a rotation might seem to stupidly easy if you’re in a 1v1 against a ladybug outside of Ul’Dah, but in an actual battle against bosses you need to actually dedicate mental energy to the mechanics. You want a dance, try swerving between a half a dozen AoEs while still actively trying to effectively maximize your damage output?

I don't think it needs to be required. Some people are better at learning by experience. You can tell thousands of people how to do it, but some just can't understand it unless you see it. And this is not the ideal way. It is boring and doesn't capture your attention at all. I never did Hall of Novice when I first played and I did not struggle at all. A lot of people just don't need it. And if you force people to do it, many people will just zone out and do whatever as fast as possible. Hallf of Novice is already annoying because it takes an annoying amount of time to do it when I don't need it. People can watch videos on youtube and it will be much faster. You should never require something like this. Let's not forget that a lot of people who play the game, they aren't doing it for PVE and you shouldn't require a non PVE'r to do it. Many just buy boosts so they can RP or do other things that isn't PVE.

How often did I feel so scared and embarrassed bc I had no idea what to do with certain markers or debuffs 😂 but in the end all of us learned. So why taking this away from newbies?
