gosh i cant stop thinking about this cover. like, mixing in the lyrics from return to oblivion is *genius*, it's the kind of thing that's so good that Soken does similar things - recontextualizing the previous narratives of the game with the new information we have, ultimately having the effect of both freshening up the old narrative AND giving the new narrative some seriously strong support. Especially with the delivery of "Turn the light on", you've really managed to capture the essence of what we've been learning about Hydaelyn and the implications it has on every warrior of light.

I had the album cover art version of this song on my playlist of FFXIV music for months thinking this was official soundtrack. I even wondered why the image said 'Joshua Taipale' and not Soken, and why the songs in game sounded similar but not the same. Well one day this video showed up and I realized it was a cover. Well its officially one of my favourite ffxiv songs, great mix. Thank you : )
