That Seto scene gets me every time. I believe it resonates with people so much, because I am sure anyone who has ever had a pet that they loved like a family member, has wished at least ONE time that they could talk to their pet and they understand you, or wished their pet could talk to them. The heartbreaking part of the "promise me you'll take me on your next adventure" line is that it's synced with the crescendo of the song to really get you. Really excellent use of music to elevate the scene. I personally chose "You could've asked earlier!" because he was being a big dummy! >:(

I recently returned to the game after a longish hiatus so I could complete the story, and I was just blown away... It was the most powerful experience I've ever had whilst playing a game. And much like the other commenters, I've been watching others' reactions and reliving the experience all over again. Even after watching the story unfold as many times as I have by now, it hasn't lost it's impact at all! In fact, it's become even more emotional for me! I thoroughly enjoyed sobbing along with your playthrough!!

They did so much for Shadowbringers and it’s a wonderful story. They’re sure to top this already amazing expansion. The crystals of the Convocation, the moment with taking G’raha’s soul and memories, fighting Elidibus and giving him peace, and our final goodbyes, it is all so emotional and wonderful. I just want to play it over again.

I love the fact that if you go anywhere on The First during the starfall the weather is starfall and you can see the wishing stars all around and the dark sky. I wanted there to be an NPC or something that could turn the weather into starfall again so I could keep staring at the sky cause that thing is beautiful.

I think it’s telling that Emet had created and kept a star for Azem. It expressed his wish that he would see his friend again one day. And I would wager that he had an inkling the WoL was them all along. But it raises a few questions… was being defeated by Azem one of his contingencies? That the “shepherd to the stars in the dark” would take on his burden? That it would prove Azem’s opposition to the summoning of Zodiark and the Convocations plans as the correct course? Nevermind that Emet himself comes to your aid to foil Elidibus’ plans to bring about the rejoining. I’m really hoping Endwalker has some more insight into these characters.

Darn, I like how you add all those reactions on all the parts that generated reactions. Elidibus, Exarch, Seto, Halric. Elidibus was sad-sad.... there isn't really a happy ending for the guy, Seto and Halric were, for the most part, happy-sad crying because I am happy things did get a little better with their conclusion. Seto get's to see Ardbert, even though he is part of the protagonist, while Halric, with the help of Alisiae, was able to prevent himself from becoming a Sin Eater. Exarch, while after the scene of Elidibus was sad, he was gone.... at least the one in the First, but while we found out his soul was in the crystal, hope was given that they might be able to bring it back to the source. And because I remember he was sleeping in Crystal Tower because of the CT storyline, I remember it require the blood of the ancestors of that tower.... and the opening of it..... I actually feel sad for Elidibus, both as a character and as a villian. From what we see here, he didn't go through with the plan of having Zodiark spawning, even though he was the heart of Zodiark. He wanted every one of the ancients to live, he wanted the ancients of that time to stop fighting... yet.... people are gone, the multitude of the ancients are divided in soul. He really wanted everyone to be happy. Through the sundering, through the millennia, and through the fighting, the people he originally wanted to protect are gone, either gone or divided in soul. He's a tragic character, much like Emet seeing his friend go the other side.

nearly exact the same reactions i had on the scenes. q.q after the msq from main shadowbringer i had really low hope that they can surpass that incredible end but... they delivered. xD over all quests i had success(more or less, dammit Hythlodaeus! xD ) to not cry but after we crashland with the airship it went down for me really fast. xD there was really few scenes and fights i had dry eye's and as the healer in the groups its... really bad. :3 i failed the button smashing two times because i was so overwhelmed. the hardest scenes for me was seto&ardbert and EVERY scene with lyna... and sure the constant fear of losing someone or more of our loved ones, they litterly changed me into a little crying girl in a bubble full of tears. stupid game >_< i love it. xD i litteraly cant think of a way they can create any story that will be better than the whole shadowbringers experience. xD

So I looked into it and it looks like the warrior of light mentioned here is actually one of four warriors of light from the original Final Fantasy. He can be seen in art from the original, and later in Disidia Final Fantasy. This particular rendition is just a take on the look with FFXIV’s characteristic high-detail aesthetic.

in japan, ppl usually dont hug as it is considered impolite or too much physical contact in terms of the culture. thats why u dont see any kind of "could be" hugging scenes. the final chapter is also referring to the fact that the next expansion, endwalker, is the end of the current story arc

I think what always gets me the most is that, clearly, we and Emet were close friends. It's pretty much said that he made our invocation, even though we shouldn't have one. He's the one talking speaking about the shepherd of the stars and his dearest friend. We meant a lot to him. He died by our hand, looking at us, yet we couldn't see the past that we shared and our bond that we had, because in our state right now we cannot remember. It's really heartbreaking

I take the point! I considered it, but it felt like the crueler thing to say in the moment. He did have a fight to fight, even if we don’t agree with his cause, he had one. The second option seemed to accept that he had a cause, even if my WoL/WoD believed it to be doomed to fail, whereas the Emet response seemed to dismiss it out of hand. I hope that makes sense! :)

Weary wanderer, you’ve no fight left to fight, no life left to live. Cruel as it may sound, it’s right. Elidibus no longer remembers the reason why he fights so hard. Once you no longer remember the reason, why do you have any reason to continue the fight? They Convocation and the Ancients will not return and they have little choice left but to bequeath their legacy to that which remains.
