FFXIV Weeb Reacts to Legion Trailer + Varian Wrynn's Death - WOW

I originally skipped posting my Legion Trailer reaction because I remembered it being lackluster. I was wrong. I was just really drunk and tired so I didn't remember it well (it was a 12 hour stream). So many ppl have asked for the Legion reaction, so here it is. I also added my reaction to Varian Wrynn's death, because for an in-game cutscene it was superb. At first I didn't take it seriously, then it forced me to with its sheer excellence. Yeah at first I wrote him off cause I didn’t recognize him (I’m from Warcraft 3), but his cutscenes absolutely kill it. The only guy to make “For the Alliance” sound cool (almost).

To bad are warchief Vol'jin got shafted in the trailer in hes death and we never realy got to see him be warchief. He be comes warchief we get warlords he does nothing as warchief. Legion comes out and he dies 20m in. They did Vol'jin wrong. With dragonflight i have hope but only for dragonflight Next ones probable going to tank.

That's the Alliance POV of the broken shore. There are separate cutscenes for the broken for the Horde which shows why Sylvanas left the battle and the aftermath.

​​@@Sebbywebzsame. I actually made an alliance alt i still play to this day just because i thought varian along with a few other characters from lore were badass. And wanted to see more of em. I still mainly play horde. I main a Forsaken rogue, Troll Warlock, and Orc Death Knight. But simply because of how badass some alliance lore characters are i threw a fourth character in there, Dranei Shaman.

There are 2 versions of the scene, an Alliance and a Horde version. They give a very different context based on faction. This was the Alliance version where it looks like the Horde just betrays Varian. In the Horde version they were being overrun and Voljin (as warchief) had just taken a mortal blow. Sylvanas appeared conflicted but called for the retreat to save Voljin and the remaining forces. This was pre-jailor BS when she was still written with decent characterization.

@@Sebbywebz you probably have seen it by now but Vol'jin is a badass too. He called Garrosh out and told him he would kill him in a in-game quest where he shows you the interaction. It's a good back-and-forth if you have nothing to do.

The Horde fell back because they were being flanked and the Warchief Vol'jin was mortally wounded. Both factions lost their leaders at the beginning of the expac.

Right up until the demons appeared in the Legion trailer you could have played the same dialogue over someone preparing for the Black Friday sales after Thanksgiving, you have to go into both with the same kind of preparation and mentality

as always i love your reactions!!!! yes the alliance side of the cutscene, the horde had one as well, both made the horde and the alliance in tears when this was the first in game cutscene. this was our introduction into legion. this would be wows first of many game of thorns type scenes in legion. the tears was rage and sad and happiness in the first 4 hours of launch. :D

If the War Within continues doing things like the Broken Shore Cinematics and actually picks up where Legion left off both in terms of thematics and writing, WoW is looking to have a good next 5-6 years. If not, Idk. Legion just hit different.

Legion was one of the greatest. even tho it had its issues with introducing the AP grind mechanics, and the RNG legendaries, but it also brought wow M+, WQ, and something to work towards once you reach max level. because it was new people were fine with it for the most part, and some of its issues were fixed in 7.1.5. unfortunately, blizzard took the worst aspects of legion and used it to create BFA and SL

King Varian and Thrall had similar events happen to them. Varian at one point was captured by orcs and forced to be a gladiator, and Thrall was forced to be one by humans. Though Blackhand (who had Thrall captured and had Thrall fight) was a real sicko.

They did a great job, right at the start of an expansion, to have this misunderstanding. The horde getting overrun, losing our warchief, and retreating, and the alliance seeing us retreat and 'betray them'. And if you only played one faction, you only saw one side of it. Alliance and Horde players HATED each other on this one, which made for some fun gameplay.

I personally think that Warcraft is at its best when it has brutal, cruel moments like this that make you remember how deadly powers actually are. Sure, not Warhammer level of cruel and brutal, but there should be some level of maturity and realism there. Not just "ooooooh , fairy tales sugar coating for children that won't even play WoW because it isn't Fortnite"

For the Sword splitting into 2.. its kinda lore thing, much not in the game sadly. He was once enslaved by orcs and got forced to be a gladiator like back in rome kinda. He was so good he got the name "logosh". The sword acts kinda like a filter. If he goes mad lad, his sword slpits into to like his mind, getting back into his gladitor prime. He is one of the best warriors that exist in all azeroth. We saw this moment happening again in the BFA cinematic where Saurfang fights sylvanus. If you relly wanna understand this story right here, the Horde cutscenes and alliance ones are worth to see, they tell both sides. For the Horde version.. Voljin dying to trash is the most disappointing thing ever for the horde imo, right on the level with cairne /garrosh betrayal. Voljin is basically a shadowhunter, which got teached by monks, master of material arts, has an loa of death bound to him (bwonsambdi). He can literally beat any mortal person aswell, he has insane knowledge and kills, nearly unmatched. This shit what happened to da horde right after this was quite sad and bad storytelling overall.

@@Sebbywebz that's not really accurate from my experience. The Blade Varian (and now Anduin) wields is an old, powerful Elven Blade that persists as 2 sister blades that can be wielded both separated or together as one. If I remember right, it was gifted to the human kingdom of Stormwind after an old alliance was fulfilled somewhere around pre-Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 3.
