this could be a stupid comment and a stupid question, but why didnt the FCG 9 creator make a 22cal version? 22cal is cheap (much easier to find for us in europe, and can be baught for 1000's for less than 100euros) same home defense, and with almost inexistant recoil, it would assure a 100% safety on 3d prints + to find a very cheap silencer to get the perfect home defense and "survival" weapon
@agcast
@agcast 3 жыл бұрын
22 isn't nearly as reliable as 9mm, and rimfire magazines would be more difficult to make I think. I think it also has to do with 9mm being one of the most popular rounds, granted 22lr is definitely easier to get. However I understand your sentiment, there is a guy making a MODX 22lr variant that would probably interest you. I have some other fun things in the works focused on people who can't get 9mm or even 22 easily

Let's see...I learned to build firearms the exact same way John Browning did, with hand tools. HE made fully automatic weapons with a FILE, DRILL, and HAMMER!!! I can too. Consider Dr. Hiram Maxim (a dentist) who in 1877 invented the World's first modern machine gun one year after John Browning perfected the lever action rifle! Knowledge and more importantly IMAGINATION cannot be repealed or revoked. In PRISON "Carbine" Williams imagined the design of the M-1A Carbine and BUILT it IN PRISON with a file and a hand drill. And it WORKED!!! No blueprints, no paper drawings, no plans, just in his head.

ive always disliked the massive buffer thats apparently needed on the FGC. its not a fully, so there is little urge for me to opt for such a blowback design in a semi. if semi, mod9 and…. hell maybe just the tac 9 “tac daddy” and “tac mommy” would be preferred build. however if I dont want to use a fgc9 in semi i could always just MAKE IT a fully in which case jt is the best smg carbine ever and damn simple to make

How much has the bolt have to go back?? because my bolt dosen't go fully back because of the secondary buffer spring how long does it need to be so it goes fully like an ak-47??

That’s a really neat McDonald’s happy meal toy you’ve got there! If I wanted to, say, make my own one of those because I don’t like the idea of having to go allll the way to McDonald’s, what would that approximately cost me?

Whats with the long tube going backwards? shoulder support?
@agcast
@agcast 3 жыл бұрын
It’s called a buffer tube. You can attach a stock or pistol brace depending on your legal jurisdiction. It’s purpose is to house the recoil spring

Bashar vid was hilarious, hth did you find it? I'd still rather have metal, even sheet metal which is a fine art, ask mark serbu.....but hey if plastic works, stick with it: def. better and cheaper mass production capabilities for sure
@agcast
@agcast 3 жыл бұрын
I'd agree but with that but after destroying 5 drill bits on failed bolts I have way more appreciation for people who can actually do metal work. The 3D printer lowers the skill barrier greatly and overall still deliver respectable results. There was this project the "PPDW-9" that looked like a traditional, full-metal gun home build. Curious to know what ended up happening to it but it looked like a project for people who actually have real metal work experience
