Not really, he had zoning but his normals were pretty bad. The only good damage you could get was off high risk 50/50’s that can be reacted, fuzzied, or interrupted. Parademon setups required some matchup knowledge but once you had that they weren’t too hard to deal with. Most zoning players opted to play Dr. Fate or Starfire over Darkseid.

RadicalStanza I’m talking about spamming projectiles. What game plan is that? You use the entire screen, press a few controls to activate your specials, and you sit there doing nothing only using those specials and the opponent can never get close enough to actually get hits down. It’s not skill to just sit there and use projectiles. Sure, you could say you use projectiles to make yourself safe on block, that’s a skilled move to keep yourself with some distance, but placing yourself at a corner the entire match and spamming the same thing isn’t skill. I stand to my opinion.

I'm not an expert on this game, but when I watch clips from tournaments it doesn't seem like anyone uses Darkseid. Is there a reason why? He seems pretty good, with powerful moves and tons of health.

guyspriggs Darkseid is a great character to bully newcomers to the game with his zoning, teleports, and damage off of stomps but for people who are familiar with the matchup Darkseid kind of falls apart. His high health is balanced out by his low defense making him take roughly the same amount of damage as everyone else. His normals were kind of lacking with most of his moves suffering from slow startup time, bad range, and bad block disadvantage. As for his special moves his stomp could be full combo punished on block so it was a very risky move to attempt, his teleport could be punished on reaction, and his zoning could be bypassed by a well-timed meter burn roll. I’m not sure how much of that you may have understood but basically once you learn Darkseid’s gimmicks he becomes much easier to fight, hope that answers your question.

Precursor Apollo He was common online but it was somewhat unusual to see Darkseid at tournament. His normals are kind of lacking, his stomps can be full combo punished on block, and his teleports were easy to read and punish for anyone familiar with the matchup. The only other player I think who used him at top level was Knicks.

INTERNET CRIP Lmfao right? People always find a way to hate on this guy. Injustice 2’s strongest play style is zoning. Go look at any match he played back in MKX and you will see he rarely ever zoned. Now just look at DBZ fighters. You can’t even zone in that game really. Hell even go look at his Marvel Vs Capcom gameplay. All the haters are just the same. Complaining about zoning and so called “spam”
