the story in this fight was pretty peculiar in a good way. Young Moriarty's only purpose was to unveil the truth that Holmes was longing to know, but with it came his own demise alongside the detective. Truly an amazing conclusion for their rivalry, you could even say its Reichenbach all over again. Holmes on the other hand, gets my respect, the same respect I gave to Moriarty back at Shinjuku chapter. Although he was already cautious of his existence from the start, he continued to support and help Chaldea throughout the Lostbelt arc. He wasn't a traitor, he's a real bro... kudos tantei-san...

Spoilers for what's happening here: Holmes learns that he was one of the Disciples of the Foreign God, and after the Foreign God summoned him he sealed his memories away because if he remembered he would have to work for her. He throws himself off the waterfall for two reasons: First so that now that he remembers he won't become Chaldea's enemy, and second because in the stories both Moriarty and Holmes died at Reichenbach, so by Holmes dying here he has sealed Moriarty's fate and now he will lose as well. His last words are saying goodbye to everyone at Chaldea, his dear beloved friends, and knowing that they will be the winners in the end.

Also reichenbach specifically being the setting means that holmes will return for sure, it is a part of his lore after all. Whether he will be the holmes that threw himself off though, that is not a guarantee

Just my opinion, of course, but it is on par with Atlantis and Avalon, story-wise. Pretty entertaining throughout with lots of new characters / revelations. However, like Atlantis (and unlike Avalon), its gameplay part is incredibly lackluster, which is a shame. It could have been a perfect chapter if it just upped its difficulty a tad. Though I should have seen it coming with Constantine pre-release.

I only play NA but I do read some translated parts of LB6.5. Here are my thoughts: Avalon le Fae is without a doubt, still the best chapter of Part 2 story-wise and the development of characters. A great chapter by Nasu Kinoko. It's honestly hard to beat the quality of it. However, that shouldn't stop you from loving Traum. Traum is a chapter filled with characters and is a very lore-heavy chapter. In fact, despite being a .5 chapter, it's actually as long as Atlantis. This chapter is dedicated to giving us more clues for the overall lore of the Part 2 storyline, like Holmes's involvement. And the character interactions in this chapter are cool. Awesome even. This chapter utilizes the characters very well. Everyone is given a proper role that contributes to the story. It's a great step-up after Tunguska, the chapter that left so much unanswered plot points and thus disappointed lots of people.
