No because the np only lasts until the end of enemies turn so you cant activate a debuff to proc it during your turn, chen gong killing her does not proc it (when she has guts CE)

The counter seems to be activated by moves done by the enemy AI actively, so using a debuff skill and attacking counts but break skills and self inflicted debuffs don’t.

I was so expecting 2 Bazzets to go like: Counter! Counter - counter! Counter - counter - counter! Counter - counter - counter - counter! Counter - counter - counter - counter - counter! And so on, until one of them was dead. Oh well, reality is often disapointing...

Unfortunately can't do that because of potential soft lock, if both Bazetts have evade/ inv the game will soft lock itself, with an infinite loop

@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodpr7529 oh I guess I misunderstood what soft lock meant, I had thought it meant something along the lines of "A situation where a game remains playable, but further progress or action is impossible", of which can be solved by use of an anti-softlock, returning to a previous checkpoint/ save, or restarting the game

For those confused by the last part, basically, debuff effects of Oberon's S2 and S3 do not trigger if guts activates at the same turn where it would normally trigger. Plushie made a vid on that a few months back, as a way of delaying Oberon's Eternal sleep on Morgan. It was pretty impractical there but for Bazett, it could be useful for her on a 3rd wave. In the first run here, there was no guts and Bazett is affected with sleep at the end of that turn due to Oberon's s3 so she doesn't get to fire off her Frag or take advantage of the NP buff. In the second run, the curse and other DOT effects proc and activated guts that was put on Bazett as a way of stopping the Sleep effect of Oberon's S3. So once the turn ends, she keeps the buffs and isn't affected by the demerit parts of Oberon's s3

So, Bazett's Fragarach breaks the enemy's animations like certain taunt+Guts scenarios. That Angra attacking thin air caught me off guard.

I honestly think they should have make it work, since we can make the curse from Zouken CE target Chen Gong if he sacrifice a Servant with that equipped So the game already has the code to consider friendly fire a target for counter-type effect. If Bazett can Fragarach Cheng Gong, it would make swapping him out easier as well

According to her passive, Bazett extends her attack-related buff to the end of enemies' 3rd turns. But Oberon's 3rd skill applies the Eternal sleep Demerit effect which is concluded as Debuff and will trigger at the end of Bazett turns. That's why he isn't compatible with Bazett. That's why we need the gut buff to extend demerit.

I think a very good reason they didn't have the counters work on each other is the possibility of both having an invulnerable states. It could have softlocked the game.

I started a new account around the time the Case Files rerun was about to end. Pulled Reines there and now used up the remaining SQ (it was a Quartz account) to get Bazett. And well, she's legitimately useful as a farmer. Hell, you don't even need Reines; just the free Waver + any 20% charger (and a support Skadi) and you can make a working 3T comp with her and Arash. It's even running full CE bonus thanks to the event CEs having starting charge. Depending on the enemy types their AI can screw you over, of course, but considering how new the account is it's pretty damn impressive I can full bonus 3T on it at all. And that's while her main use isn't that of a farmer at all, but rather that of a CQ destroyer. They really did her justice in that she's one hell of an allrounder. Kind of disappointed that Fragarach doesn't turn back time and hard-counters trump cards like it's supposed to, but that would have probably been too powerful considering how much of a powerhouse she is already.

I would probably gather here that only active actions trigger Fragarach, so for example, Bazett wouldn't be soloing through Cernunnos' Curse Layers any time soon, even if that is capable of debuffing her

Per the Angra example, sorry if this is dumb, might the rest of the team dying first be what's preventing Frag from firing, so it could work if Bazett solos him? Or does every other aoe np also finish ko'ing the frontline *and then* the counter activates?

The debuffs procced her guts and prevented the eternal sleep from happening because it cannot sleep a dead servant

Yes you can. Her old setup still works and now there's another option with Reines. The increase in NP damage just makes it a lot easier to get enough refund from higher HP enemies

Tldr: she now hits as hard as Dantes. In self buffs she does 31k to 47k while Dantes on his burst turn deals 33k to 49k In farming Caren outdamages by a significant margin on t1-2 and slightly loses in t3 In CQ using a BG for both,Caren outdamages every turn and it's not even close

She now joins the top three of the AoE quick loopers, and is arguably the best. On top of dealing extremely high damage she still has a lot of utility tools and incredibly good endurance, ane she also has a SE mod vs Chaotic alignment that covers around 110 Servants
