Can confirm, she is indeed that good, especially if you max her skills. Can't NP spam as brainlessly as Archuria can, and doesn't quite have her utility, but with card counting and Arts crits you should be able to get some back to back turns in - and with her stargen buff active, almost any brave chain will have you swimming in more stars than Gil (25-35). Just need to wait until Wednesday to NP5 her, dammit!

Back when I started on JP Kuro was my first FA servant and all that praise is no exaggeration. She carried me through so much despite the rest of my team not breaking level 60 and consisting mostly of 4-stars and 3-stars.

Paptimus Scirocco bring all of them *shrug*. Start with Waver, then sub him out for Tamamo after buffing. Not like you need either of those two in most cases anyway. Both Kuro and Artoria have fantastic NP gain, so they can honestly just dopey each other with arts and quick cards to regenerate NP. And once things actually start to get tough, my Mash, Waver, and Tamamo will all be ready for backup

Honestly, Kuro is probably one of my most anticipated servants to come out since the game started. Been a long 1 year+ to wait for her to get here. Though also happy that she is really good, that's a nice bonus. I still think it's a bullet dodged that she's a free servant since I probably would have been tempted to whale for her. Instead can be happy to just throw the hundreds of archer exp cards I've got at her. Great spotlight as well.

I would personally recommend NP batteries first over damage buff in most cases. Kuro's battery goes to 50% which allows her to equip a lot of event CEs and lower rarity NP charge CEs to NP right off the bat. Makes it real useful for most events, especially the upcoming Nerofest.

Out of all the servants I know of, the 3 servants that have amazing np gain to the point they can spam their np are squirtoria, Kuro, and sitonai. If you pair these guys along with tamono, Merlin, and waver and you will have the most op np spam team.

I strongly believed Kuro to be the Best Welfare Servant in the Game, at least Archer-Wise, and I knew I was right!!! She's incredibly strong, and Super Useful!! Also Sober Oni, you didn't need to tell me about getting her, since I Long Since Planned on getting her AND NP 5ing her, AND getting her Fully Ascended!!! Also, LOVE your choice of Background Music; fits Kuro Perfectly!!!! ^_^

I'll say it again, she's not an upgrade to EMIYA. She's a SIDEGRADE. They're both Jack-of-All-Trades, but one is much better at crits, while the other does burst damage on a single enemy with her ST NP She's excellent at dueling 1v1 bosses, and can do burst DPS, but she cannot take nearly as much punishment as her Onii-chan can, and will quickly get overwhelmed by multiple bosses (whereas her Onii-chan thrives against many enemies.) Also, she only has half of Shirou's star generating and crit damage potential, and really gains her NP as quickly as he does (especially in solos for either). That said, her ST NP is good, and Emiya needs around NP5 to match it at half strength. However, NP doesn't have the utility that UBW has in setting up the next turn. So, she's fucked if an enemy has NP Down against her. She's also fucked if an enemy keeps spamming Defense Buffs. The only real reason many people consider her a step up from Shirou is because he requires more skill and investment to bring out his full potential. Which, really, is the case for a lot of diamonds in the rough like OG Saber, who at low skills is really kinda weak, but once you max out Mana Burst and the Anniversary Blonde Mystic Code, she is fucking *devastating* . That said, I'm still gonna raise her even though I have Squirtoria. Primarily because she's basically FSN Illya. But never make the mistake that she's objectively better than the OG Emiya in every way. Only that she's easier to use. That said, I will say she is better than EMIYA in team comps. Emiya is great when he's soloing more than when he's on a team, because he can go full constant DPS while managing to take a lot of hurt. Chloe is more fragile but hits harder in bursts and can spam, and her own kit makes her able to synergize better with partners. PS: Shirou Emiya re-analysis when?

the fact that kuro actually has viability in an arts crit team makes her a lot better than someone like emiya considering his niche is so spread out, whereas she can focus on hers extremely well, and this game favors that. also OG saber is never ''devastating'', regardless of what mystic code you use with her. Raikou is devastating. Jalter is devastating. OG saber is not. OG saber is just a farming servant. I'd also argue UBW's utility really isn't that big of a deal, a 30% atk down isn't gonna save you from anything you wouldn't have survived otherwise. The defense ignoring is nice though, i'll give you that. However, the arguement that he's better at multiple bosses is a moot one because you would never bring Kuro into multiple bosses regardless, since that's not the niche she excels in. Emiya isn't hard to use. You just press magecraft whenever you have a good card spread, and press hawkeye (soon tm) when you have crit stars. None of the servants in this game are actually that difficult to use, the gameplay is pretty simplistic. Him not having an NP battery, and an Arts NP. Couple that with an insane NP5 single target arts NP with a decent hitcount, which has access to some of the best buffs we've got in the game right now with people like tamamo's fox wedding, and add onto that the fact that you can very easily get your entire NP back if you've got any kind of NP brave chain that isn't NPBB if you've got some stars, and then suddenly the gap widens between the two... Kuro not being able to take as much punishment as emiya is also kind of a moot point because you usually run her in a dedicated arts team, which has a ton of tools and alternatives to reduce incoming damage, people like tamamo with her healing, jeanne with her invlun, mashu with her defense buffs, hans with his defense buffs + refresh, the list only grows wider. I wouldn't call kuro a jack of all trades at all, actually. I'd say she's a focused, dedicated, crit arts archer. Emiya can be jack of all trades, though, I think that fits well enough. She's not easier to use, she actually is objectively better than emiya in a lot of ways. Her viability in an arts team is much higher, her card spread is a lot less awkward, single target arts NPs are really insane, she has an NP battery, and she's a guaranteed NP5, which is extremely difficult to get on Emiya, and her overall damage is a lot more consistently high within the teams that you'd run her in. P.S. I say this as someone who owns NP5 Emiya

Although, it's a different story when using them to solo. Now EMIYA is well rounded being able to be a crit lord and a decent crit servant. Kuro on the other hand is definitely better for np spamming and boss killing but lacks a bit in the crit department (look, I only say a bit since that crit damage skill is tied to the evade which is undesirable and the crit up isn't as much as EMIYA). Now they do fill different roles so saying how one is objectively better than the other is correct but only in a certain role. In the case of boss killing, Kuro has him beat, but EMIYA can still hold his own in boss killing tho. But like John said, EMIYA is definitely better when facing a group since ubw is aoe coupled with his star gen skill, makes him better than Kuro. Or so I think. Other than that I think you and John nailed down everything else

That was fast! Kuro, imo, is simply amazing. While her survivability is rather lacking in comparison with Archuria, her abilities as a ST Archer are without a doubt some of the best in the game. Looking forward to having her in Chaldea and hoping the event will get a rerun in the future in JP.

Less suitability for more damage (Unless you got like an np 3/4 Archuria). When you consider her main teammates (waver, tamamo, nero bride, caster gil) they all provide suitability skills or heals which matches better for kuro seeing they don't become overkill and when combined with her evade she can technically become more survivable. Still when a free 4* is comparable to a 5* that's really damn good for us f2p, c2p or just e rank players

Almost all of them are somewhere between good and above average, with some standouts like rider Kintoki, Kuro, and (imo) assassin Shiki being arguably best in slot candidates for what they do even when compared to most of the gacha servants.

Kuro is awesome but there is a small part of me that irks me cause she beat up my Saber Alter in the series. Still she is bad ass so i'll forgive her for that. Just wondering i put Halloween Princess on servants alot during events for the extra punch and 50% charge. Since you didn't mention it during your spotlight i wondered even with Kuro's good np gain is the extra np damage worth it or should i use more consistent overall damage like Formal craft.
