This movie scene is fricking hilarious. Especially the part at the end "I have to say I believe Idgie's been a bad influence on you".and she answers "I agree". I am laughing SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

This is the film's sex scene since they couldn't actually show them having sex in a mainstream movie in 1991.

This is one of my favourite scenes in the whole film, I hope their chemistry was as good off screen.

@sleepypoodle I think so, if I remembered right, read it in Vogue that they finished off each other's sentences and cooked for each other on set and were the greatest fans of each other (at least back then).

I'm sure it has much to do with the fact that she hardly moves her face when she talks, it's quite incredible because she still manages to be so expressive; even the way she moves her eyes - where most people would turn their head to look at someone/something...she just moves her eyes but keeps her head completely still. She rarely frowns and that has helped reduce the development of lines/wrinkles,

@wuyiting I always enjoy a film more if I know that the principal characters had a genuinely good relationship off screen, so it's nice to hear that, I hope it's true.

@narnia98 It's such a shame, (having read the book) to realise just how much the film played down - almost entirely - their lesbian relationship, although the author herself didn't seem too bothered and was just grateful that it was made into a film at all. I suppose the film makers wanted to reach as broad an audience as possible with a more subtle approach and Idgie was undoubtedly gay although Ruth's sexuality remained very ambiguous.

@sleepypoodle Well, I honestly don't think the book "outgay"s the movie much (yeah, I watched the movie first). Like you said, Ruth's sexuality is ambiguous in the movie. You know the actresses are SHOWING you how they love each other contrary to the book TELLS you outright by giving your their verbal exchanges or interior monologues. What I love about the movie is everyone gets to see what they want to see. We can pick up subtleties and certain things are left to imagination. It's very sexy.
