FGV CPDOC | Kunuuka (English version)

Synopsis: In Botica Village, Apinajé Indigenous Land, Brazil, Chief Tápkryt Kunuuka passes his name to two children. Combining archives and memories, the documentary captures for the first time the ritual of transmitting the name Kunuuka, which had not been performed for 70 years.
Script and direction: Iremex Andressa Apinajé, Celso Castro, Gabriel Cardoso, Laura Guimarães and Odair Giraldin.
The documentary Kunuuka was produced as part of the Indigenous Documentary Heritage project: a collaborative work between FGV CPDOC and the Apinajé People.
