It’s highly recommended to always consider safety; at a minimum wear safety glasses and at best wear a lumberjack’s helmet with a mesh face guard and ear protectors. Gloves too.

The chipper was $1400 USD (price has gone way up since last year) . The tractor I bought used for $10,000 USD. The chipper is at betstco.com

Now that you've had this awhile, how do you like it? Any problems?

works great. It is solid. It easily chips 4+ inches. I have chipped about 7+ cubic yards worth of mulch. (about 100 bags of mulch). I use the mulch for trails. I think they are raising the price may 1st. I would grab one now if you are considering it. Join their mailing list to get money off. Also I have made a contraption that works with the chipper. It solves the problem of wether you go to lots of little piles of brush or move every you want chipped to one big pile. My paths are narrow so I need to chip lots of small piles of brush. Come back in a week or so to check it out.
