@forhealthscholars
@forhealthscholars Жыл бұрын
Hi Veronica, thanks for watching and welcome to the channel! Check out HealthIT.gov they have various resources to prepare for HIT certifications or courses. Regarding studying time, it depends on you as the learner… if you already have some training or education about the HIT, anywhere from 3 months to 1 year is usually sufficient to study for a certification. All the best!

As a junior in HC Management, do you have any tips on breaking into the industry? I have multiple degrees and certification, but none yet in HC Mgmt. I found it difficult to get in the door, without a certification. Such as billing, coding, etc.

Hi Shawna, Thanks for watching! I would recommend you start by applying to a few entry-level healthcare administration jobs like practice management, or office coordinator to help gain some practical experience. Also, fellowships are another excellent and often paid way to secure a healthcare management position. All the best!

I have had my MHA degree since 2020. I have a project management certification from Google and I’ve been, if not still a current meme we of ACHE. With all of that, I have yet to find a job. My background is social work, I’ve been a manager/director of some psych facilities but nothing that’ll help me navigate away from social service. I am currently in chicago. Finding work with my MHA here requires me to have an RN license. So the roles I believe I’m qualified for elsewhere, I’m not in Illinois. What am I doing wrong ?

Hi @questaxo thank you for your kind words & welcome to the channel! Right now the healthcare job market is adjusting to the current economic climate and as result, Healthcare hiring is changing. Since you have applied a few times with no response, I recommend you try working with a recruiter. Robert Half and Tanynum Group are the two agencies I know that are helpful… Also check out the below strategy that I posted on the For Health Scholars KZbin Community Board below: ✨Here’s a Quick Strategy to Land Your Next Healthcare Job… 1. Make a Goal to Apply to a Minimum of 5 Job Position Postings Per Day 2. Open the Job Search Engines and Look for Healthcare Jobs Vacancies Posted in the Last 7 Days (i.e., Indeed, Simply Hired, etc.) 3. Apply to the Jobs that Have Been Posted Within the Last 7 Days (these postings mean they are hiring immediately) 4. Sign-up for Your Industry Listserv (i.e., ASPPH, ACHE, RESADM-L). These listservs always share job opportunities that are not usually posted on the common job boards. 5. Connect with Recruiters I hope this is helpful and all the best on your job search!

@forhealthscholars Жыл бұрын
Hi @tasmith1610... Thanks for watching, and welcome to the channel! Certifications can always be beneficial in helping land a job, especially if you have been away from the industry for a while. I would take Executive- Driven Leadership Certs. However, getting certifications is not required. To acquire Mid to Senior level positions, you need to network with executives... Attend town hall meetings, conferences or connect via Linkedin. Additionally, using an executive recruiter firm can help you re-enter the field in a mid to senior position. Check out this website www.besmith.com... All the best!
