Since you know you want to get into medical billing and coding, I suggest trying to get into an entry level position like accounts receivables, claims processing, etc. at a revenue cycle management company. Trizetto and Change Healthcare are 2 examples of revenue cycle management companies. Good luck! Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions for you.

@@preciousruby7265 an easy transition for you would simply be administration(receptionist , insurance verification)for a doctor. (What medical assistants do but you already have a degree) it would easily get you from business to medical.. and using your degree.

Im so excited I found your videos. I have a certification in medical assisting. I was a CMA for 10 years. Im currently a Patient Navigator/Advocate for patients with OAB (Overactive Bladder). Im looking to be a Practice Manager, Department Manager or Operations Manager for a Private Practice or Hospital. Hi Samantha! Congratulations on your recent graduation! I didn't receive any training when I was a practice administrator or business manager...it was baptism by fire! When I got into my corporate roles, I received training on the programs that we used but not "how" to do the job. Overall, my experience in practice administration, business ops, revenue cycle management, commercial insurance, medicare, etc. and having a thorough understanding of how the healthcare system works as a whole can't be taught in OTJ training or in school...that is gained over years of exposure and experience. I hope this helps!

Hello, I am glad I came across your video. I have been thinking of switching careers as I just do not feel satisfied with the direction my career is going. I have always had an interest in the medical field and would like to know if a BS in Healthcare Management will allow me to still pursue the the administration side of things? I know there is a different major as opposed to Healthcare Administration but the school I am looking at only offers Healthcare Management. I am looking for a position that may allow me to work from home and has some flexibility but I am just unsure what direction to go. Any suggestions would be helpful. You have a new subscriber :)

It’s actually a field position but because of COVID, we’re not meeting with any hospitals or medical practices face to face, all of our engagement is done via video conferences/conference calls. Once the pandemic is over, I’ll be working from home still but will spend time in the field meeting face to face with hospitals and providers groups.

when you say ELEVATE what do you mean? With an MBA, you can seek managerial positions at your hospital to start with. If your job doesnt promote you, look at other hospital...JOB jumping is a very effective way to move up in your career...goodluck
