She kinda did~ just didn’t get to see her! But in Breath of the Wild and Tears there are times where the sword will emit Fi’s sound and communicate with Link/Zelda

She sort of did. Her chime can be heard when the Master Sword communicated to link and Zelda in BotW and TotK. In Totk, Zelda refered to the master sword as "she" and "her" when healing it

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but Fi is one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise. I didn't finished TOTK yet, but with all these hints towards her in BOTW and at the beginning of TOTK, I really hope we get to see her back. May you find Link in another life, Fi.

I personally believe Ganondorf took the form of Demise so I imagine the final fight in TOTK as retribution for Fi as I hold Demise personally responsible for her death.
