Totally agreed. I’ve played like 6 or 7 Zelda Games since 1998, and just recently Skyward Sword (I didn’t think it was a good game for all the bad comments I’ve read), but I gave it a chance. I ended crying like a baby when I finished it. Fi NEVER seemed annoying for me, on the contrary, I felt she was a loving, caring and wise partner. I’m truly thankful for a game like this. It is not in my top 3 of favorite Zelda Games, but it definitely has taken my heart.

@@fallenghouls since you posted this 2 months ago I assume you played the switch port which drastically reduced the times that Fi would want to talk to you about anything and everything and also fixed minor annoyances slowing the movement of the gameplay, although I will admit the amount of “criticism” it revived was a bit overblown and became kind of a meme itself. I love the game, the story and characters are definitely some of the best when it comes to the Zelda series but the Wii motion controls were a bit of a struggle at the time.

It's implied that she speaks telepathically to Zelda in the final memory after Link collapses to tell her that Link can still be saved, and to Link after he finishes Trial of the Sword to signal that Link has "become one" with the sword and unlocked its true strength. It plays a few notes from Fi's theme each time, and it makes a very similar sound to the sound when Fi is about to pop out in Skyward Sword in both scenes.

And people say he’s emotionless within the games he shows distress when Zelda enters that weird crystal slumber and feels sorrow knowing fi is gone but is still happy knowing she’s fulfilled her purpose and people think that he’s just a blank slate skyward sword link isn’t like the other links he’s a character with a past and a story that touches even the coldest of hearts, this in my opinion is the best link in the entire series because he’s not just a blank slate for you to control he’s a character who shows emotion through every little facial expression and the multiple option answers all of them feel like he’s the one making the decisions not just you, and that my friends is how you make a true character and he shows emotion that is his, completely distant from the players actions, and he’s the first link (time line wise) meaning that fi was right about them meeting again not only is fi with link in this adventure but in every game she’s with you helping you even in her eternal slumber may this story be forever blessed with the purity of the goddess hylia. This seen will forever make me shed tears every time I watch it, it’s truly the best story to ever come out of the franchise hats of to you Nintendo.

Because much like Ghirahim, she is the embodiment of the goddess sword, the weapon wielded by the goddess, which was later obtained tempered by the sacred flames into the *Master Sword.* She may appear to be gone forever, but she lives on within the Master Sword, and continues to watch over link, even in breathe of the wild.

I loved both Midna and Fi.... and although Midna had an emotional goodbye, this one is more emotional to me. And I think I understand why. Midna... She stayed with you throughout your entire journey, going from selfish at the start, to selfless. Her attachment with Link grew overtime. When she said goodbye, she shattered the Mirror of Twilight on her own accord, and still lives in the Twilight Realm, just unable to enter the Light World. Fi.... Essentially starting as a glorified robot, players (hopefully) start getting attached to her. The attachment never *seems* to progress, as she never really changes, but this moment... Fi is willingly putting herself in an eternal slumber, and it's only now players realize how attached to her they were getting. The many adventures that they went through with her. All the dungeons, the search for Zelda, all of that was done thanks to Fi's help and companionship. And although most players may not realize it, they slowly get more attached with her as the story goes on. When she says goodbye, she *has* to go into an eternal sleep, and in this eternal sleep, she's essentially dead. Not only that, but she started to feel happiness. She started having feelings, and thanks you for the adventure. To sum it up Midna is still alive, living on in the Twilight Realm, shattering the Mirror of Twilight on her own accord. Fi is essentially dead, in an eternal sleep in the Master Sword, and once a lifeless robot, now starting to have feelings of her own, and she can't even expand on that.

There's something so sad and deep about an aritificial grasping at the task of getting in touch with feelings. Even Knowing that they cant feel, you selfishly want to connect with them emotionally, to send them your love and comfort. Yet you end up having to feel for both yourselves.

Still to this day my second favorite Zelda since OFT and even after BoTW. These are just a little more personal

When you realise that, in Ocarina of Time when you get the Master Sword for the first time, you actually reunite with her

let's be honest, we all do agree that Fi was a little bit annoying right? like reminding our controller's battery over the time, but it still shatters our heart when watching her farewell

This makes me weep, like Legend of Zelda has played an amazing part in videogame history and making a prequel before every game really aged well even though it may not be everyone's favourite Legend of Zelda game

I've never played SS fully so I haven't watched this scene but is it just me that genuinely cried when Fi was gone when link opened his eyes. How Fi's theme changes makes it all the more heartfelt

HOLY SHIT, after more than 10 years, only now I realize that only at the VERY end does Fi call out Link by his name!

When Link drew the Goddess Sword from the pedestal in the Statue of Hylia, Fi registered Link as her Master, and nothing more. When Link dropped the True Master Sword into the pedestal in the Temple of Hylia, she de-registered Link, but still said some last words to him, as she saw him as a hero and friend.

No matter how many times I play this game I always end up crying at the end. My first Zelda game was Twilight Princess and it showed me how epic a story can be, however my second TLoZ Skyward Sword showed me how legendary and emotional a game can be.

You don't have to like Skyward Sword to see how tear-jerking this game is in comparison to other titles in the series. Sure, there are some sad moments in the other games such as the professor and daughter in Majora's Mask, but this game really felt impactful and brought a lot of resolution to questions that required answers in the sequel games. I hope they remaster this game for the switch; if they could actually reimagine the combat system for this game, it'll be much more beloved and well-received by the community.

I haven’t played skyward sword, but I watched hours of gameplay of it (I did the same for twilight princess), and Fi’s goodbye made me cry 😢
