This girl anguish is reasonable. She need to reject such culture from the beginning, if possible, to disengage from the marriage without looking back. I am a Yoruba man. Old enough to know. Such culture no longer exist in the Yorubas I know. However, some people may still be secretly practicing it. So, the woman must reject it whilst still young and alive now.
