The fact that Emily lost friendships, family relationships, her job, and money just shows that even her own parents can’t stand her, she is basically the living description of what she is trying to avoid becoming when she is playing video games and doesn’t win. OP should have pointed it out that unless Emily learns how to stop acting like a child she will find herself alone. Sure, we have been competitive at some point of our lives and grew out of it but what Emily did was beyond disrespectful and just shows how scum she is.

I see where you're coming from) But this could backfire. She could tell others about OP's trauma and I don't think OP would like that. It's less headache to just completely go NC and if she tries coming back, as his friends said, get a Restraining Order

Yet every time he does, you either 1) Lose all respect for him and dump him, 2) Try to flip it around and make his issues all about you, or 3) Weaponize it against him later. This is why whenever you ask him what's bothering him, he just smiles and says "Nothing. I'm fine"
