Fiat 500 - Classic Car Review

The Fiat 500 is an icon of design, beyond simply motoring. The concept was simple, and so was the car. And yet it became one of the most famous cars ever conceived.
In his latest film for classic motoring channel www.ClassicsDriven.co.uk, Motoring Presenter Paul Woodford gets to the bottom of the appeal of the original city car.

Thank you for your kind words. As a former forced user, i assure you we usually dreamed of an alfa romeo or Mercedes. being inside was like sitting on the roaring and whistling engine while being packed as sardines when passengers were four. anyway, great looking design, unsurpassed, now expensive as a restored classic car. Abarth version were fast and delightful but rare.

I have one in the USA. A 1972 F. It gets way too much attention for my liking. Crowds of people taking selfies and laughing at it. The worse one was someone trying to take a picture while they were driving- they ran me off the road- cause they couldn’t multitask. It’s nice- but people with cellphones are my worst fear.

@@henkvermalen Yep. I used to drive a 500F to work every day. I sold it to buy a Classic Range Rover, haha. I have another 6 500D's and a couple of Giardiniera's to restore and the fun can continue.
