Fiat 500 Part 4 - Install new clutch and gearbox - My daughters first car - VSG Ep 69

In this episode I install a new clutch, crank seal and recon gearbox in a 2010 Fiat 500 called Ditzy. Also maybe find yet more issues!
But we are making progress and going in the right direction.

It's so much easier watching a gearbox change from the comfort of my lounge ;-) You're daughter is going to end up with a great car. My Daughter has the KA and I love driving it, just like a go kart... :-)

Hi need some help garage fitting recon box said drive shaft won't go in as something moved? And is stopping it going all way in? Any advice cheers

Hi just found this video after dropping the gearbox from my daughters Ford Ka ( same engine ) Had the gearbox refurbed and put it back in myself on the drive. The driveshafts were a bit awkward but got there in the end. I wish I had seen this video first as it looks much simpler when the bumper and rad are out of the way.

Got the same job to do on a punto , 20k on the clock and diff bearing looks like its on the way out 🤷😧 will be using the same company for a recon box 👍

Would you say it's easier removing subframe or the radiator/front bumper to get the gearbox out to change faulty bearing?

I am currently tying to fin a matching gearbox for my fiat500. Does anyone know if I can use the engine number to find a suitable gearbox? I found one that might fit my car but they can only provide me with the engine nr the gearbox came from....

I thought Fiat had sorted their corrosion and reliability issues. Your tin sump's rusted? Isn't that a B42 song?

Is the starter motor an easy fit? As need to replace one myself.
