Thank you very much. The rear of every car is different and I am surprised the Fiat 500 rear brake doesn’t use the electronic brake system.
@TheNortheastAl3 жыл бұрын
@@ejsgarage I was surprised when you said you put on the handbrake, but were still able to turn the rear wheel. Was the handbrake on at the time you replaced the rotors?
@ejsgarage3 жыл бұрын
It was on and it turned, some car won’t do turn if the hand brake is on.
@TheNortheastAl3 жыл бұрын
@@ejsgarage it does seem that it should not turn because that is supposed to keep your car from rolling away of it is parked and not in gear. Maybe the cable has stretched. Check to see if that happened. It is strange for the handbrake to work that way.

Maybe I didn’t pull it all the way. I will check when I do driver’s side 😀

Nice video! I'm pretty sure that the inboard brake pad was fitted the wrong way round as the brake wear tab on the pad is supposed to face toward the rotor (Disc here in the UK) so that when the pad wears down to a certain point the metal tab contacts the rotor and makes a sound as you brake to alert you to the fact that it is time to replace the pads. 👍

Most automotive lug nuts are tightened to 90 - 120 ft. lbs., trucks will be more, about 120-150 ft. lbs. range.

Don't need a special tool to compress the pads. Just use a C clamp.
@ejsgarage2 жыл бұрын
C clamp will work if you don’t have the special tool.
@johncard007 Жыл бұрын
A G clamp will not work effectively as you have to rotate the piston in as well as push the piston (this is because it also acts as a hand brake).
