I know its aimed more at girls, but as a guy who needs a small city car and to cut bills down its one I'm going to get and run for a few years. Most cars today look like electric shavers anyway, so might as well have a car thats got literally everything needed to get from A to B and has some character to it that the 60s had in spades. If you're a guy and like it, as I do, just buy it and drive it 🤷‍♂️

As a owner of both a 500 lounge and a abarth 595 I can hole heartedly say I agree with everything you say about the 500 lounge Yes the rear seats are tiny the performance is ok compared to the abarth is seriously slow but 50mpg easy to park cheap to own make this in my eyes a easy car to live with as a Daily and I'll most likely buy another even with its flaws

Its easy for people over 6ft to be driving, there is lots of space but not in the back or boot! boot is tiny and back seats are not practical for a drive more than 15 mins for an adult. However your summary of being fun but flawed is bang on. (as a fiat owner myself - id rather have a different car but its a bit of fun)

@3:09 It is rather layed out by necessity. Making the dials smaller makes no sense for ergonomic reasons. They were fairly limited due to the layout. @6:49 Minis? Abarth 595s? @9:45 Which partly depends on how much it costs. :D @10:07 Actually, you can if you are in the market for opportunities. ;) I wouldn't buy it new because of depreciation. You get a 3 years old Abarth 595 for the money of a new 500 Lounge and that is a hell lot of more fun. ;)

It’s not as ergonomically laid out as it’s rivals I’m afraid. @6:49 The Mini starts at £3k more than the 500 lounge and has twice the power so not in the same class. Same applies to the Abarth. @9:45 Not sure what your point is here? I showed and told you how much it costs. @10:07 I’m not so 🤷‍♂️ You can’t compare a brand new car to a 3 year old one, it doesn’t make any sense. A 3 year old Abarth will need to be MOT’d and is out of warranty. Not ideal when it’s a Fiat.

It doesn’t stand for anything per say, it just relates back to the original 500 that was smaller than the Fiat 600 in the 1950’s.

I think it does well at what it does, it's a really nice design, it's just very over familiar now. I'd prefer a Toyota Aygo. Or even better, a Dacia Sandero.

But I can not help myself these reviewers are very similar to each other, they just repeat and pay attention to things they have seen elsewhere! You get what you pay for, another thing this car is mainly designed for town, city and shot trips so the last thing I will pay attention is some plastic on dashboard. I will be focus on things that is the car supposed to do. Besides if you like something you don't pay attention to imperfection! Besides I suggest these specialist know about car just where is the lip from the tank and the fact that into the diesel car can not pump petrol.

I can go to art gallery, knowing nothing about art. I will pass some picture without paying attention, somebody knocks my shoulder say, this is Vincent van Gogh, he is very famous painter. I will make step back and pronounce, well I tell you this picture is really great, its so appealing, natural. Who did you say paint the picture. Vincent van Gogh, oh I see, he must have been really talented. So the point is? You can come to same conclusion naturally or fake way. A lot of cars reviews seems to me to be like parrot, or me in the art gallery!

Hi londo0, I’m afraid we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. I struggle for head room in cars that are a lot bigger than the 500. I simply do not understand how you can have anywhere near enough head or leg room to sit behind yourself. Cars like the VW up! and Hyundai i10 make much better use of the space in my opinion but I would still be uncomfortable in the back.

@@BuckleUpShow when I drive I don't actually push the driver's seat all the way back. And if I sit behind the driver's seat, you actually have to spread your knees past the driver's seat. Obviously not ideal and very comfortable, but not as bad as you made it out to be.

@@McCrazyFish I had two fiat 500s and an abarth. If you're expecting level of comfort you would get in a range rover, you won't get that. But, for short journeys, 500 is ok.

@@londo0 It's not just a simple question of comfort, I wouldn't travel any distance with my head jammed at a sharp angle against the ceiling as its simply not safe. Seat belts, head restraints and everything else are designed to operate with an occupant sat up straight in the chair and I don't even want to think what would happen in a roll over.

A car is a vehicle of transportation from point a to b, it doesn't distinguish between gender..that's human beings who have put that notion of such things. Hi Just Phil, I think you’ll find that the line you refer to was intended to be a joke. I believe anyone familiar with ‘Fiat 500 Twitter’ would know exactly what I was talking about. I also have an iPhone so my joke was also aimed at myself. I know it’s somewhat of a miracle if people in the KZbin comments have a sense of humour, but I really would advise that you lighten up. I would also recommend that you watch the full video before leaving a comment, as if you had, you would know that I go on to talk about the cars merits as well as it’s faults. No car is perfect and if you own one it’s often hard to hear anyone say something bad about it. You think it’s ‘awesome’ and I think it’s flawed but fun. Let’s just agree to disagree shall we.
