Fiat has always excelled at building stylish small cars that were perfect for that urban centric lifestyle of those that lived in the heart of cities such as Turin and Rome. Yet of late, their absence in the critical B-Segment of the market may have caused many to forget about their illustrious past with cars such as the Uno and Punto. So, by upscaling the wonderful 500e to create the new 600e, have Fiat done enough to bring back la Dolce Vita to the Italian brand's line-up? As always, Bryan was dispatched, not to the beautiful city of Naples, but to the wet and grey Cotswalds to bring you the answer.....

I currently have a Fiat 500x which is brilliant. I’m concerned this is missing the good things of the 500x, but it’s gorgeous. Shame about the back seats and lack of features in the back. It’s a beautiful beautiful car, thank you for this detailed review. Still think I prefer the Jeep.

I love your laid back presentation style. This car is 'fine' with a nice bit of style, but it really is overpriced, we need to reset our price expectation, this really is no rival to the Korean cars, needs to be £25k with £30k top spec.

Price out the door looks like £29k ish (vs £32k for the Jeep Avenger, £28k Mokka, £26k 2008, £20k C4)

Very good review, I think you covered everything! I own a 500x and have been driving Italian cars for the last 20 years. 500x is just big enough inside for our current needs and its the deal breaker with the 600 and this platform, its just too small inside, although I will look at it to be 100% certain. We have one car and this is nearly right, but not quite. Its a bit slow as well, the Alfa Milano and Abarth 600 will be, I'm sure, more expensive, so I don't know what will happen, possibly a Megane? Having said that, I like this car.

Dont need passenger storage, so this will be a candidate for upgrade of the E208 in a wee while... 500 was just too small for me.

Did I miss something. I didn’t hear anything about the efficiency of the 600. Being built on an ICE adapted platform I guess it is quite heavy relative to its size. I realise that it may be difficult to assess the real world range and efficiency in a test and to make comparisons in differing temperature conditions but there is little doubt that those EVs designed only to accept a battery pack are lighter, spritelier and more efficient.

Nice review, sadly I think its one of the most average EV's out there, slow, styling has been curbed too much, interior could be a number of other of the groups cars. Really nothing of note about this. Really sad to say, thought it would have Italian styling, quirky, something eye catching. But i'm missing it unless its the headlights or Italian badge at the back...

The over-the-shoulder shots in the front have too much depth of field, so you’re talking about the dash but it’s blurred. I find this a bit frustrating, even tho later you do show some closeups - we’re here to see the car not the side of your head :)

Looks nice. But wy buy not a full ground up ev? Brand that keep building hybrid platforms are never going to get competitive in time when evs get fully adopted hybrids always suffer, battery size power and charging ext on its own its a good ev to drive to the end of te street and back, droppig the kids at school and back But at a price like that we all must be verry rich or making the banks verry rich

a lot of people are not ready for a full ev. Can't charge at home. Like me! I think this will sell well in UK. Personally I'll wait for the Abarth or the Alfa Milano

The front looked good, but I wasn't impressed with the sides and the rear. The sides looked bloated and bland, maybe metallic paint would help? I would rather go for the BYD Dolphin.

I'm a massive fan of Fiat, owned 14, and I'm disappointed by the 600e. It looks odd, doesn't really do anything better than any other EV, the Avenger seems better to drive. If Fiat depended on this I reckon they'd be in trouble, but hopefully new Panda due out 11th July will be much better.

Sorry not for me, looks like the 500 after a few weeks binging, smacks of a compliance car to me. Price ? Outrageous, its a £20k car at best, I don’t know here they are getting £30k+ from for a relatively low range 2 adult + 2 children car from. Disappointing overall …… but I do like the colours and buttons on the steering wheel are useful but thats about it….sorry

They won’t actually sell them for anything like list price - Stellantis EV’s are all massively overpriced to begin with then huge discounts within months. Anyone buying them near list price is a fool.

I think when you compare this to the new Mini EV, it looks really poor. I know the mini is more expensive, but I’d much rather have an entry level Mini than a high spec Fiat 600. Just seems way overpriced for what it gives you.

Like all Stellantis EV’s, it will be hugely discounted within 3 months of launch. Expect 10k off them within a year.
