There is no need to take apart the exhaust, and also no need to remove the wheel hub.

@@kpwright01 I have done it on 1.2 Punto, did not take apart the exhaust, nor the wheel hub. No need to remove the 32mm nut. You have to disconnect the wheel hub from the shock absorber (2x 8 cm long bolts) and you can pull out the axle from the gearbox, and the other end stays connected to the hub. There is enough space there, no need to mess around with other things.

Thanks for that video, especially that undoing hubnut and lower shock bolts is enough to pull out the driveshafts. Others usually suggests splitting the ball joint and undoing the caliper, which in my opinion is asking for trouble. Ball joints usually gets damaged and calipers need a good cleaning if you mess with them or they'll drag.

I had to change my gerbox on my Punto Grande 1.2..I could not find 1.2 gerbox so I had mounted 1.4 motor gearbox. It kind speeds up faster and I have to change hers faste as I could noticed. Can that be harmful for my 1.2 motor? Tnx

Hello mate, i changed clutch kit on 1.2, because old one was bad, and car was shaked a lot when i try to start going from first gear...now i putted new set of clutch (friction disc, pressure plate and bearing), flywheel is not resurfaced cuz mechanik told me it seems ok...but now, i have some small vibrations during releasing clutch pedal when i want to start from first gear slowly without adding gas, forward and reverse...if i add gas pedal and start faster everything is ok, but when i want smooth and slowly move, i feel those vibrations small but i feel it, until clutch engage, after that its fine...can it be issue because flywheel is maybe have some minor scratchers and it takes some time to new friction disc adopt on it, and than this vibration will disappear...or maybe it is some installing mistake, like for example, is it possible to turn friction disc contra, i mean engine side putted on gearbox side??? or release bearing is not installed on fork properly...what you reccon?

Possibly the alignment of the clutch or the flywheel as you say. If it’s contamination it may wear off as the clutch beds in but you’ll have to wait and see

Is the gearbox sealed or does it need draining before removing driveshafts? Great video BTW

I didn't drain the gearbox on this so not sure if the level was low or just having the car jacked up meant the oil didn't reach the holes.

2:35 i have play right in this spot, where driveshaft enters in differential, so when i grab driveshaft by hands, and moving it i have play up and down, and also clunk noise from inside of differential when shaking driveshaft....is that normal, and can it be reasone why i have small vibrations on my front wheels when starting slowly from fisrt gear or reverse?!

That doesn’t sound good, sounds like the gearbox may have a fault if the movement is inside. It probably would cause vibrations yes.

Hi, no they are just held in with an expanding lock ring. They do take quite a lot of pressure to pull/pry out. I hope you manage.

+Scott Tanner it's difficult on your own but with 2 jacks and a hoist it can be done. It's much easier with 2 people.
