Maybe the most brilliant supermini Ive been in and a masterclass in cost cutting; they have removed every single bit that is not really important, like the trunk floor is just hard carpet sitting on the spare, or you got no center cabin light but will you notice?! Instead it has great soundproofing and ride comfort, reliability is good and parts are cheep. The car is also lighter than most competition, so you get better fuel economy. And if you want to get one used, it looks better (inside and out) than those weirdos of the time and the design is timeless, as fresh now as 17 years ago...see it you can look back at a ~2005 fiesta/c3/clio and not cringe.

Had an 04 1.4 16v for the last year just got an 08 grande punto today 1.4 8v and I'd not swap back the condensation in the clio was awful the grande is much more comfy and quiet . Glad you showed the city mode function and how to open the boot cuz i didnt know . Great video chap found it very useful thumbs up

Thanks for the feedback! There is a big difference in terms of comfort with the Grande Punto. I’m curious have you noticed a difference in between seeing as your clio was a 1.4 as well but 16v as opposed to your 8v Punto? JM 😊

What a great way to sell a car, very smart! I wish all private sellers would do this as it can give you insight into what the car is like before viewing it. We have a Fiat Punto 05 model and all the auxiliary things tend to go: the sun visors come off, the glove box stopped closing, the front seat stopped working (so you could get onto the back seat), it gets very rusty underneath the car, the city facility goes off sometimes, the exhaust system wears out quickly. BUT, the engine has been fantastic, and not given us any trouble and it is still going at 116,000 miles.

@@jmcarreviews692 thanks. We have just updated to a 2010 Grande Punto with less miles and a 1.4 litre, and already the usual things are happening (back window winder stopped working, clutch rubber fell off pedal,🤣)..... BUT the engine sounds like it will last the distance!!

This is actually a really good review! 1 point I will say is the dynamic sport comes standard with front fog lights, models with the plastic covers on the bumper have the fog light button blanked off so by the looks of it your car has had a active bumper put on it😳

Thanks so much for the feedback! Mmm, interesting! Whilst the previous owner failed to disclose it to me, I discovered the car was a Cat D, my mechanic suspected it was hit in the rear but your comment makes more sense! Good thinking!

Just got a 2009 Grande Punto 1.4 8v dynamic. Loving it so far. It is my second car (but first own car), before that I drove an 1999 Astra 1.4. No issues so far (that is probably expected on day 2 lol)

Brilliant!! Happy motoring! Funnily enough, I’m now driving an Astra 😂 It’s a 2007 1.9 CDTI…will have to do a review of that car soon!
@25myma2 жыл бұрын
Italian cars got such a bad name in the 1990's-2000s that its really hard to convince people of how good a car the Punto is. It's tough, cheap, refined and it looks good. If I had to get a cheap 2010ish supermini the punto would be my first choice, especially the 1.3 diesel which is also chain driven,..and I'd certainly not get a Polo or a Clio from this era.
@demelza322 жыл бұрын
We had a 2003 Astra years ago and it was the WORST car I have ever had the misfortune to drive. It used to stall constantly at roundabouts and intersections, and it cost a fortune in repairs at the time. It gave me Vauxhall PTSD, and will not ever buy another one!

I spent 1 week looking for a car. I have found this Fiat Punto 1.2 age 2013.i was a bit skeptical about Fiat. thank you for this video it was very helpful. how about Engine wise are they solid?? is there any common problems with the engine.? God bless
@jmcarreviews6923 жыл бұрын
Being 2013 I’m assuming that is a Fiat Punto Evo which is slightly different to the Grande Punto. I strongly recommend joining an owners group on Facebook as you soon start to identify trends with common problems that owners mention. One thing I would check is whether the heater and fan works on all settings as the heater resistor seems to be a common fault that is mentioned. The only problem I had with my Punto was a bad alternator, otherwise it was very reliable! It’s very hard as some owners will always say “Fiat stands for Fix It Again Tomorrow” but personally speaking, I had little issues with it! Hope that helps! Good luck with the car hunting! JM 😁

Also, as I mentioned in the video, the door handle mechanism is not the best so check that they all work sufficiently!

Great review 👏 Thank you! For many years I have an old Punto and wanted to upgrade, but I don't feel comfortable with this one.The most common thing is the visibility and the breaks. Now I'm looking to Ford fiesta.Much noisier,but I tested it and like the comfort,it fits me better. If I buy it,I can tell more.😊
@jmcarreviews6923 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback, means a lot! I completely understand the issue of visibility, especially to the front of the car. A Ford Fiesta is another great choice, I've driven one before and much more engaging to drive. Do feel free to let me know if you buy it and your thoughts!

@@jmcarreviews692,hi JM, I bought the Ford Fiesta Titan 2009, 1.25, 60hp,benzin motor.🥰 I'm so happy with this car. The noise is coming probably from the overall car isolation.Actually the motor is absolutely quite.But when I drive, it stars getting noisy and I feel like I'm in airplane 😊 Also maybe there is a problem with some of the wheel bearing hubs,but trying to find out which one exactly 🙄 For the winter I bought 195/60/15 new tyres.But I'm not sure if this is the right size,even if the documentation says it's for this car.They are a bit bigger and I'll test it today, when the car is more loaded. No other issues so far...yeay 🤷 Hope also that the fuel consumption will be fine. Mostly I'll drive it in the town. Beautiful little car for women 😍 I'm inlove with it!😍🥰😍

@@Mia-rt7xw Oh fantastic! Thanks for letting me know! Being the Titanium it should have quite a few options on it. The noise is understandable, especially for that size engine and if you're on the motorway...just turn up the volume on the radio! 😂 Enjoy the new car!

Do the seats fold flat?
@jmcarreviews6923 жыл бұрын
Hi @mbplove ! Sorry I didn’t make it very clear in the video! So the seat bases do lift up and, provided you remove the head restraints, the rear seats do fold flat! However, there is a slight ridge between the boot floor and the folded seats so it can be slightly harder to slide items all the way through. No posh adjustable boot floor here like on the modern polos! Hope that helps! JM ☺️

I would like to meet the first motoring journalist that coined the phrase, 'Soft touch'. .... Now every single car review has to add that for some reason ? .... Keep your hands on the fu*king steering wheel where they supposed to be - rather than feeling all the trim in and around the entire interior !! .. Can you stop saying, 'Erm' between every sentence - it is annoying and only said by those who have little or no confidence.
