Fiat at their best. Compact,useable, economical and goodlooking. GP was a beauty when it came on the market. I don't really like the front grille on the Evo though. Fiat should have put more effort in developing this car. The body of it is is still quite modern.

I have read the good things and bad things about this car, I have never driven this car, but I had for five years a Fiat Siena 1.4lts 2007, and I NEVER had an issue with that car, they are reliable, comfortable to drive, cheap on petrol, spare-parts were very cheap in my hometown ( I know this varies from country to country), suspension is very good. (A good driver knows how to drive every car, don't pretend to drive a Fiat Punto like if you were in a Ferrari, is a small car, with a small engine, but they are absolutely fantastic.). I have now a Toyota Corolla 2012, it is a good car with better price resale. But there is something in the Fiat that I like more, I don't know what it is. People wants big powerful engines for what?? In Australia the speed limit in motorways are 100 k/h, and there are cameras everywhere, so, if you want a powerful engine is because you are going to be out of the law speeding. With the Fiat take you from point a to B, cheap, and no dramas, if your are singles or only a couple, but if you have kids, maybe is not for you. I am looking forward to buy a second hand Fiat Punto, to have fun, and leave my Toyota to my wife. Cheers

You make good, no-nonsense points. I recently bought a 2006 Punto Grande 1.2 8v, 42k miles, and in immaculate condition (it must have been garaged) with zero rust. I've been driving it sensibly for a month...no problems with performance, comfort and economy. It's the same colour as this one in video - and as clean. This guy talks about the 'poor, cheap plastics' of the window-mirror controls! Jesus! - The things Millennials think of as poor... It does it's job perfectly. So, I'm backing-up what you said here.. Anyway, arrivederci, my Fiat friends!

We have had a 2005 model punto and currently have the unfortunate displeasure of owing a very costly 2010 "grande"? (anything but) Punto! The 2005 model has faired better than the 2010 one. The 2005 model got to just over 120,000 miles and has rusted away. The 2010 model has given us nothing but grief in the year we have had it! Exhaust, clutch, brakes, alternator, oil sump (that is leaking since the mechanics made it leak), all replaced, and the list goes on, and this is all under 100,000 miles!!! I have no idea what car to go to next (a Toyota)? I think that we are being screwed over by car manufacturers (of course why wouldn't we be, we are being messed about by all the powers that shouldn't be)!! Things (including cars) were once built to last if you looked after them, now there is a very short shelf life as this messed up world is all about PROFIT!!

I know people can say that cars in general are unreliable and such but surely it falls down to how well looked after they are. If you look after your car, no matter what it is, it's going to keep on going. Heck, I have a 2011 Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 with 22k miles on the clock and it's as tight as a drum, no faults at all, not even with Bluetooth or Stop/Start. Now I'm not saying thousands of people are wrong, I'm just saying that it depends on how you treat a car. :)

What happens if you use city steering while on the motorway?
@232Geno5 жыл бұрын
A good point that you raised here five years ago... I have the previous model to this one (Grande), and it has the same 'city' ultra-light-steering system. So, the car is programmed to revert back to 'normal' power-steering once you've reached 20, or so, MPH for safety; as it is too light for higher speeds. It's really not for what he was doing here, either. It's better used for backing-in and parking in tight, crowded spaces on streets. It's great for that - so super-light that you can turn it with your little finger!
