My friend got a DS3 1.6 THP. She haven't been driving it that much. When the car passed 48000km a spoket between camshaft and the vacuum pump for the power brakes snapped taking the timing-chain with it :S. the car is 4 years old and Citroen first respons is that they dont want to cover it. Here family have been loyal Citroen owners to. Here mother also had a DS3 1.6 THP with 98000km. Sure enough it also had Timing-chain rattle when we took of the valvcover for inspection. Both cars have been serviced at Citroen dealership and when they have been driven its mainly on highways.

The Mini used to be a premium brand, that was about five or six years ago, when residual values were sky high. They still hold their value well, not as well as they used to. Unfortunately they are being manufactured at a remarkable rate, making them so common that few people take any notice of a new model. It is still a good car, but has lost a lot of its up market image due to too many being made. Recently i ordered a brand new Supermini, and no i did not visit my local Mini showroom. Spending a large amount of personal cash, i chose a new Audi A1. The reason for that, was its interior was far more upmarket than the Mini, and Audi have sensibly not flooded the market with them, making their image slightly better than the Mini.

Everyone is saying that there is no cup holder but there is one in the centre behind the handbrake. My advice is to have some sort of lid on what ever drink you have as you will probably drive this car in a way that will cause the drink to tip over.

Could someone please tell me about storage room in the front? because all I hear is no cupholders, smalldoor bins, and small dashboard room? No spots to store things?
@ruhbanahmed34258 жыл бұрын
The door bins are fairly standard in terms of their size. In the UK (and other RHD markets) the glove-box is half the size it should be due to the housing of the fuse box. In left hand drive markets, it's perfectly adequate. There are two odd-shaped cup holders between the two front seats (if the arm rest isn't ordered) and they don't provide much support for drinks. Personally I'd only feel comfortable putting capped bottles in them due to the lack of support between the two cups. Hope this helps.

4 of my family and friends have bought these in different levels of spec and unfortunately after about 2-3 years old they suffer electrical issues! Every single one of them ended up in the garage with things ranging from airbag alarm faults, seatbelt warning faults, engine management sensor faults and many more! Buy it new on pcp and trade it in for a new one before the inevitable Citroen unreliability kicks in

Dear englisher, even in 2010, if I wanted a premium small hatch-back, it wasn't the Greek-designed, German-produced "British" Mini. It was Fiat 500 Abarth. Or VW Polo. Or Alfa Romeo MiTo. Or Mercedes A-class. Or BMW 1-series. And for crying out loud, next time get a brighter color!

@ruhbanahmed34258 жыл бұрын
All of the 1.2 PureTech 3s are a great first car! With the higher powered (130bhp or 110bhp) cars, I'd watch out for your insurance premium as they sit in higher ratings than the smaller but adequately powered 82bhp version. If you're considering the Chic specification, I presume you're from France? As far as I know the Chic is the entry level DS 3 so make sure it has everything you want on it. Otherwise have a look at some of the higher specified cars.
