Just here on KZbin. Maybe people with TVs unlike me here and in Canada can see it, but I wouldn't know. Hopefully Le Mans won't have some unique copyright that prevents it from being on KZbin. I'll avoid all news outlets that report on Le Mans during and after the race until I watch it on KZbin (if Duke Videos doesn't steal the rights). I know what happens in this race because I wasn't expecting to be able to see it, so I haven't actually watched it. I'm not a fan of freezing/swapping teammate cars, but Toyota had to do it to us. Since I mentioned I'm American, sorry about President Plumpkin.

M Zitzmann I don't think any of the privateers have the money to develop hybrid systems. Mecachrome who are supplying the engines to Manor this year talked about making a buyable hybrid unit for lmp1 privateers but I don't know if anything will come of that

Tactical Ginger Well, even Alonso´s crash in Melbourne wasn´t that heavy. I think it had something to do with the way, the accident occurred. They might have feared the possibility of a safety issue in the LMP1 regulations.

This Season is Special because they want that Le Mans is the last race of the Season, but because Le Mans is so early in the year (There are only 4 months with racing before it) so they had to do something. This Season will end with Le Mans 2019. Then the new Season will start in autmn 2019 and will end in Le Mans 2020.

Christopher Michael well they were. According to some news that i read in internet and forums, McLaren and Toyota are consider to join DPi rather than LMP1. And the chances of Toyota joining DPi next season is so big if they win 24 hours of le mans this season. Other than toyota grew pretty big in US, one of IMSA chairman was one of the executive of NASCAR which toyota compete there as a constructor. Not just that, but rumors of Ford and Ferrari joins DPi had spread out making if that happen, the DPi would have a classic battle once again.

MaiN tESt McLaren, Toyota, Ferrari and Ford are interested in the next global topclass of sportscar racing, not DPi. They are (McLaren, Toyota and Ferrari) mainly talking with the ACO and not IMSA. And I personally don´t want a top class, where the winner is decided by the organising body instead of the capabilities of a manufacturer, team and driver combination (we already have that kind of shit in GT racing and the TCR classes). The DPi BoP would btw also kill that "classic battle" since it wouldn´t be a fair one.

LP for ever yes, they're starting to look to race at Le Mans. But they're looking for starting platform, and the best choice before they entering GTP class in 2020 rather than being LMP1 privateer, they thinking DPi would be more suitable for their starting point. Yeah the BoP that IMSA had between DPi and LMP2 is little bit unfair though....
