Rain, sleet, snow, hail, dry. Close racing (at least in some of the classes). And this isn't even as crazy as Nurburgring last year where they were going down the back straight in the dark in the rain side by side. How can anyone not appreciate good sports car racing as one of the top forms of motorsport.

I love Jacky Ickx! "I am no longer an expert" - I'm sure it's true, but it just doesn't sound right. So many things have changed since his glory days, but he's Jacky Ickx! You just have to turn the FF settings up compared to other Sims like Asetto Coursa. Also Project Cars 2 is better on a Logitech or direct drive wheel.

@@corwintipper7317 I have. To be fair, my TX wasn't a very strong wheel (yes it has since ceased working) but PC2 was noticeably weaker in the FFB department than most games. Peak torque wasn't necessarily the issue, the game just didn't give out a lot of small but important forces to my particular wheel, which gave the sensation of a much weaker force overall.

No, it's been a full time track for quite a while

It changed to a permanent ciruit in the early 2000s. Before that it was public road from La Source up to Les Combes and from Stavelot back to La Source. When hail and sleet hit the surface, it becomes water almost instantaneously, unless the ambient temperature is below freezing.. So, their tyres would probably be able to handle the water. The main issue is visibility, and amount of water on the surface. Ice, is ice. Water is water. LOL

I can't understand how they allow Toyota to have such an extreme advantage with the DPI class. Isn't IMSA about "balance of performance"? To allow just one manufacturer to compete with a Hybrid System that gives them such an acceleration boost above all the other LMP1 cars makes no sense to me. They need to be in a class of their own. The fact that they race for the Championship with such an advantage is totally unreasonable.

Because ovals have banked turns and avg. speeds are faster because of how large the tracks are. Even if NASCAR had rain tyres it wouldn't help because of the centrifugal forces of racing on ovals (see 2005 US GP fiasco and the "Goodyear vs Hoosier Tire War"). You try racing a very heavy car, on slicks, on a slippery track at 180-190mph but the water is also running because the whole track is on a bank. The cars go flying into the wall because they just hydroplane (see 2001 Winston All-Star Race) there's no heavy or mid-braking zones on your average NASCAR oval and where there is, it's because the track is tiny. Which I'll admit, you probably could run Dover, Bristol, and Martinsville in the rain and be okay.
