Memory: "I'm about 9 yrs old and its winter and my mom is in the kitchen cooking breakfast. I just woke up and am cold so I sit on the heat register in the kitchen and the radio is on and I listen to Fibber Mcgee and Molly show with mom as the smell of bacon frying and coffee is percolating. Our local radio station WJNZ is broadcasting this show." Its a happy memory I love because i am back with my siblings and parents. Thank you for the memory and posting this show.

The show was broadcast in the evening, not the morning, so must have been dinner rather than breakfast. Nice memory to have, though.

@robert brown it was morning. These were Fibber reruns because it would have been around 1973. The morning was when WJNZ out of Greencastle Indiana played these shows.

A great show. So well written and performed. I'd rather listen to Old Time Radio than watch anything that's on TV. I see things better on the radio!

Good choice. We are kinda partial here to radio also. Ha! Thanks so much for listening to the channel.

The show was comfortable with its humor and characters during harsh and horrible times. It gave assurance and a gentle comedy to a nervous America. Bless them all!

@@donlove3741 WW 2 was happening in 1942 (don't know whether the USA had summoned enough courage to join in yet, but the rest of us were fighting. And prior to WW2 there was a 10 year Depression so yah, the statement holds true.
