I've never been to a fiber festival - but I definitely want to! It seems like such an awesome community event as well, now I need to go meet some IRL knitting people!

I am way too clumsy to walk and knit! Definitely NOT on the treadmill!😂

Haha I guess I just feel like its too much time for me to not be knitting lol

I have never been to a fiber festival, so your do’s and don’ts were very helpful to know. I have just finished a Felix cardigan out of High Desert tweed worsted by Knitpicks, and now I am trying to decide on a cardigan pattern for my granddaughter because she has outgrown the one I made her last year. I really enjoy your podcasts!

Thanks so much! A Felix cardigan with tweed yarn sounds awesome!

I’m in the PNW too! I’m currently working on the book club cardigan by Sari Nordlund, The shift by Andrew Mowry, and a couple of pairs of vanilla socks with 9 inch circulars. Thanks for a great podcast!

Hello neighbor! Will you be attending Sacred Sheep? The book club cardigan looks awesome, I love all Sari Nordlund designs. :)

Since I am a new knitter too, I haven’t been to a fiber festival yet. Plus I am in Florida. There are yarn stores but no festivals. I hope to go to one next year.

What types of things do Florida knitters make? I imagine its not a lot of warm squishy wool items, but maybe I'm wrong haha.

@@hattyknitsalong I do have some squishy wools for my travels up north during the winter. I do need shrugs and sweaters for the miserably cold year round air conditioning. I love knitting with sport weight. And I will make a lot of short sleeves in light DK and on accident fingering. I am committed to making the Lumme sweater by Sari Nordland for my winter travels this year. It’s too cute not to have one. She also has it in a tee version that I will knit that will be much more practical. I’m moving back up north in a few years so I can have more bulky sweaters!

I am currently working on a pair of fingerless mitts (Fantastic Fingerless Mittens by Stash Lounge, a free pattern on Ravelry) using Lang Alpaca Soxx yarn. I am a 9-inch circular knitter for socks, mainly because I find I always leave a ladder between the needles when I use DPN's. Any pointers to help avoid this? PS: Thanks for another enjoyable video!

Ladders can be tough, I find it especially hard with certain types of ribbing. Try pulling the second stitch on each needle tight, I think that can help a lot. Thanks for watching!
