Hi Mecco - Do you have any outlets or users of your product here in the UK? Also, with the engrave feature shown on your video can your system achieve a depth of approx 0.25microns to allow paint to be applied without discolouring the outer edge of the aluminium too much?

Amazing. Is it possible to laser a polished bare aluminum image into a black anodized surface?

Hello, and thanks for your question. To get through the anodic layer, you need power. When you burst through the film, you do a slight surface modification. The resulting mark looks matte white. How is this laser different to a K40 laser? How does the aluminium surface turn black?

Hi there! That's a great question. The MECCO machine featured in this video is a Fiber laser, while the K40 is probably a CO2 laser. The Fiber laser, with a wavelength around 1.064nm, is generally the best method for marking metals. The material burns and re-welds itself back to the surface, creating a dark mark.
