Fascinating! This is really a “best” choice for pooling yarns. We see them on a rack in the store and fall in love with the color combinations. Then comes the challenge of what to make, to avoid ugly changing pools. With assigned pooling, it’s again all about how the colors play together- the reason we bought that skein in the first place.

This interview was so interesting. I always love listening to business owners who are responsible for everything...lots of planning and discipline and lots of hard work. Dawn seems to have mastered that. I will check out her website.

Irina, thanks for this interview with Dawn. I had heard about planned pooling with crochet but not too much with regards to knitting. What a great technique - her website patterns and yarns are simply stunning. A technique I must try someday.

I’m going to try it too

I love assigned pooling, and I have a couple skeins specifically for it, though I haven't started the projects yet. I loved this interview!

Wonderful interview, Irina. I was fortunate to meet Dawn and her husband at the HCW Retreat in 2022, then saw them again that same year at DFW Fiberfest. They’re both lovely and so down to earth. Listening to her reminisce about Suzanne brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you for sharing.

Wonderful interview - I took a class from Dawn soon after she released AP - she’s a genius and love both her designs and her gorgeous yarns.❤ OHHHH her early peeks at slipped stitches and AP - the Breezeway is stunning and I can’t wait to see it released!!

Great interview, thanks for the pictures at the end !!! My favotire knit ever was made with an assign pooling yarn and a patern cerated just for it : " Turn It To The Max" by Joanne Bint. I was so happy knitting that, I was wondering if I should slow donw to make the pleasure last or if I should hurry to get the finished object. I did hurry, I love that little shawl, still wear it a lot. I might try to knit another one just for the pleasure.
