Fantastic video. Been using this technique for 20 years and its still my favorite. One suggestion that you might appreciate.... I lightly mist coat my parts with 3m spray adhesive before laying the glass down. Helps to avoid stubborn wrinkles that can pop up when a large part gets too wet from the wbpu.

good job young man, but...I agree with another viewer that you should "wet glass" your foam, cover that foam with a light coat of Minwax, then lay the glass over the wet foam for excellent adhesion, then wet coat the top again, squeege off and away you go. You might want to try EZE Kote by Deluxe Materials, it also is a bit better as it is a laminating resin and water based. There are a few more adhesives in it above Minwax, dont get me wrong, you are doing a great job, this is just another way to get great results, been doing this for years and old-school 2 part resins are a royal PIA. water based is awesome. Keep up the great work!

Great technique - something I could maybe do on depron to give it strength - I'll try for my small depron sheet wings.

Looks like a nice process, curios to know how well and strong the bond is.

Can you use an oil base polyurethane on fibreglass to cover XPS foam ? Does it works? As the water base polycrylic ??

I have a very old 1/4 scale J3 Cub that i'm going to re-cover with Sig Koveral. It seems like this Minwax stuff might be good for filling and sealing the weave as an alternative to dope

I’ve had a horrible time trying to find 1/2 oz glass

I use 1.5oz on all my projects. It's cheaper and easier to find. Most aim for 3/4 Oz but overall the added weight is negligible

Would this work on styrofoam

If the water-based poly does not disolve it (and I doubt it would), this should work with styrofoam. Try on scrap to be sure.
