I think this is such a cool concept and I love when bookstores do this, I would honestly love to buy a wrapped book myself but I own so many books that I'd be worried I'm buying a book I already have lol
@fictionalfates2 жыл бұрын
this was basically my worry when i got them skdkskkc but at least there’s a good chance of not getting one you already own if you choose a genre you don’t read much in!

This year I've been doing a random book challenge for myself, and it's been so much fun!!! For one book each month I've been going to a bookstore and using a random number generator to pick the book, and no matter what it is, I have to read it. Everything I've gotten (so far) I've enjoyed and they've almost all been books I never would have picked up on my own
@millieb38232 жыл бұрын
That sounds really cool! If you dont mind me asking, how do you choose the books by the numbers is it lile the 5th book on the shelf or do you choose books your interested in and number them, i hope this makes sense thankyou!
@therainfromfreecloud2 жыл бұрын
@@millieb3823 I do number on the shelf, but I do like a series of random numbers to narrow it down. I've had to change it a little depending on how the store is laid out, but mostly I pick first by genre/section, then aisle, shelf, then book. You have to set the parameters for each number so I have to kind of walk around like, counting how many aisles there are and decide ahead of time which aisle counts as '1', etc.

I run a Blind Date with a Book program called Read It & Eat here in the US (US + Canada)! The whole idea is to take you on a culinary adventure so you get a book where food is the core theme AND you get a snack that supports a small business (Read It & Eat, get it, haha...). Plus, there's a donation component built in to help fight hunger in my town in partnership with food pantries and food non-profits. I leave an option for you to post your Good Reads or Storygraph Link! That way I can double check your reads vs. my inventory.
